Not counting any normal maintenance stuff like iridium plugs or synthetic oil or cleaners or wax or...yeah, all that stuff.

$100 - exterior trim
$650 - wheels/tires
$350 - bra
$90 - suspension
$110 - grill
$120 - audio
$140 - fogs
$220 - misc. interior and exterior goodies

$1780 - rough total

This is for an essentially "stock," plain vanilla, white box.

Yeah, most of us up here do it all ourselves, there are certain things I'd hand to a shop though, like painting and tuning, everything else is basically rip off, bolt on, go.

Yup, I was at the Factoria Mida's and the person in front of me paid like $45 for an oil change. I was shocked when I heard the total. You can do it yourself for WAY less or take it elsewhere for half that. She smiled and easily handed the guy her credit card.

Meh, it's actually not much cheaper to do it yourself, oil changes are opportunities for them to upsell other work so they don't charge much more than cost of parts for those.

Filter + washer + 4qt of full synth 5w30 runs about 35-40$ depending on where you get your stuff.

Doing my oil changes myself actually costs me more, but I just don't trust many people with my car lol.

Yeah, ditto, except my friends who are techs at places, I'll leave it with them, but only for the stuff I can't do, like put my own tires on or an alignment, or for something that is *way* easier with a lift.

Seriously.. and even then I'd rather know I have a new washer and an OEM filter anyway, and that my oil cap actually got put back on, etc.

Well worth the 20min it takes me (10 of which is putting the car up and down on my stands cause I have to drive up on blocks before jacking it up cause I'm so low lol).

I get Mobil1 5w30 full synth at Costco for 32$/6qt, so it's actually quite a bit better deal than paying per/qt at Orielly or something.

Yeah I'll trust people that are my friends or people I KNOW will do a good job, not just Joe Blow down the street, he can't touch it. I've been using Royal Purple and either an OEM filter or the Royal Purple filters, works great for me, yeah I spend a little more but I feel better knowing I did it and with quality oil.

Yeah, it's all about the cost of my own time and peace of mind.
