Hydraulic drive line??
It would be very expensive, require a lot of room for the pressure tanks, and a lot of weight for the system but the bracing as well. It would be great for cars that don't have a lot of room under them to direct a "drive line" to the rear wheels. Unfortunately it would be another fliud to change, and if they used rubber hoses/fittings, it would be another maintenance area. Plus if you are using pressure tanks and one ruptures in an accident it could be a mild to moderate explosion
...
the HLA system is noisy and for heavy trucks and only "jump start" the unit off the line upto about 30 Kph,
and this is similar to a "bobcat" or a tank drive system and would need very large pumps / piping to for high speeds
