Here is a great article

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_air_intake

in its most basic form, it brings more colder air into your fuel system which combusts more efficiently and creates more power.

its a GREAT starter upgrade, you'll get some nice sound, a small bump in power and its a very easy (usually) mod to do allowing you to get your hands dirty and get something cool done on your car!

I agree - this is one of the best first modifications to do to a car

I love mine... just make sure you purchase a reputable brand so ask around here before purchasing to make sure

AEM supposedly (i read in some mag) is one of the few that makes each intake model from scratch for each car line... not take exisiting one for another model car and see if it'll fit..

I have a AEM short ram now... nice sound, when i could hear it b4 exhaust work... have a fujita i'll be putting on this winter will see how that compares on the butt dyno

well that's what I thought...but the article I read made it sound like an additional heater was needed.

Based on what ya'll have said I think this will be a mod coming soon for us. Sounds like more HP and a better sound would be good.

Wishing I got the insulation to cut down road noise now that my baby has hit 20K

Hi there Jenn,

I've got the TRD CAI, and have been very happy with it. NICE little power bump, and it sounds great. The Reasearch i've done also leads me to believe that Weapon-R makes
a very nice system ALSO with a nice little bump in Power. But the cool growl that both with give your Box with also give ya that special "TUDE", and makes ya smile just that much more at yer ride. ALL these guys, can help you out with advice, as they are all great guys, and I am sure more knowlageable than me. If you are coming to exposed, I'll be there, and will be happy to talk to ya about it though. :D
