k2motor.com weird ordering policy
Has anyone ordered from these guys before? I ordered some headlights last night and this morning they tell me they can't ship them to my work address. I am really confused because their order form lets you add a ship to address. The email states that it is their company policy to help prevent fraud but it sounds more like to me its a bs clause to cover their own asses. Plenty of online sellers ship to a seperate address.
I don't ship items to my apartment because it is no secure. I have no front office and there is no gate. I really don't want someone walking up to my door and snatching whatever I just paid $x for.
Does anyone know of any other online dealers that sell these headlights?

Call your bank and have them list you work address on the account(as a shipping address). That should resolve it.
It really is for your protection. They verify the addresses with the bank to avoid fraud.

Check EBAY b/c they are sellers on there. Look for those headlights and see if the seller is K2. I ordered my short throw assembly from them but off of EBAY. Not sure if it is different, but it might have a different ordering status for EBAY users. Just a thought. I got mine sent to my house though, so not sure if this will help.
I emailed them back suggesting that and having to have them call me to verify the information. If they verify with the bank that is the number attached to the account so hopefully I can get my order shipped out but I am still hunting for alternatives until I hear otherwise.
No the problem is they didn't want to ship to an address other than my billing address. I work in downtown Seattle (Belltown) so I usually ship stuff to my office. It is completely secure that way -- in fact my floor mats just arrived
Oh.......Well, that definately sucks. If they have that option I wouldn't know why they would tell you they wouldn't send it to that secondary address. Your work isn't a P.O.Box number correct? Almost all businesses won't send to them. I'm sure it's not though, but that's still weird on their part.
Good luck

Yeah, I wouldn't have ordered in the first place if I had known that was an issue for them. In fact if you look at their "company policies" it is not listed anywhere. I was hoping to have them before the weekend
I called them up and tried to sort it out but they refused to ship else where. I suggested they make this more obvious on their order form some where so they dont run the same issue over and over. I ended up ordering from http://ssuperstore.com/ instead.
You could just change the billing address on your card to your office wait a day or so, place the order wait a day or two until it posts and then change the address back to your home.
It's not worth my time for the difference in price to deal with that run around. I think I should find out where these people are drop shipping from and build my own store. I could do a lot better. Half of them are either running a Mambo module, Yahoo store, Miva Merchant or OSCommerce... mostly in their default form. Either that or I need to hook up with a local shop and help the fix their site
I am pretty sure almost every major bank and credit union in the us has fraud protection for their cards. Regardless I understand why they have that policy. What I don't understand is why they do not mention it anywhere on their site or on the order form which clearly lets you specify an alternative shipping address. My best guess is that is the default behavior of Yahoo stores and they simply don't know how to change it.
I ran into this same problem. I just called the card company and changed my billing address for a day, then I changed it back the next. Actually now that I think of it, I've had to do that 2 or 3 times. Mostly with smaller online companies.
