Default LED Swap on Gauges

I've been toying with the idea, of wanting to swap out LED's on my gauges, for Blue Ones, and then changing the gauge face. BUT I have no idea on how to
get to the LED's on the gauges, OR swap them out. Has anyone done this?
how hard is it, and who has the proper LED's ? I'm looking for Blue ones.

Yup we have done it here. Well I started it and John Grayfox finished it. My tips are have a good soldering iron and little bit of time. Jenn and T can tell you where they got them from.

All in all it was not that hard. Heck bring it up and we will help you getter done.

I purchased the LED's from Ebay...here is a link.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION...d=p3911.c0.m14

HINT MAKE AN OFFER HE WILL SELL THEM FOR LESS THAN LISTED. I got mine for $15....have heard some get them for $10....so try that I love the way the blue turned out....or will be if this gauge face thing gets dealt with (see below). Comes in different colors, but here is the blue

Shipping was quick.

I got my gauge face from a place around here...but not particularly pleased with the service received thus far...so not sure about recommending them until I see how this pans out He is ALSO on Ebay....had I bought from him there instead of direct (same price) I may have had more clout to get it dealt with. The gauge he has on Ebay is scion specific and cool.....but he also does custom. Will let you know on how it turns out....then I might be able to recommend them....LOL Once I get the last piece I will update,...

Here are VERY detailed directions. The hardest part really is the soldering...John was an INCREDIBLE help and wonderful at saving our butts!

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=187351

Once you do the gauge you will want to do the HVAC's...garage of Chapa helped with this as well. Here is where I got them. Make sure you get Neo Wedge type B and get the 30% brighter ones...they really are brighter. http://autolumination.com/74.htm

Shipping was kinda rediculous for a postage stamp....but it was quick....and they work great! It's a PITA getting it all out and back together (still have to play with my left one to make it turn right)....but the overall effect is AWESOME!

It's a relatively inexpensive mod that looks great. I know Dave and Martha were talking about doing it in green in their 1st gen.

If you need any other info ask I only know what I know...but T, Don, John and of course Doug know the rest Bring it down and between them you can get it done quick. I would order your gauge face first that way it is a one time take apart kinda thing....get the gauge face, gauge led's and HVAC led's and bring it down and get it done LOL

The soldering is for me no big deal - as for pulling the dash apart Doug and T were all over that - If you need the soldering done I can do it for ya it takes about 40min I figure.

I've had a little practice

Jenn that is where I got mine....but the guy took FOREVER to send it...I paid on the 12th...but he didn't even mail it until the 26th...even after I had told him I had hoped to have it by the 27th because of BOTI. It really irked me. Then it gets here and there is no UNDERLAY...so when the lights shine through for lights on...seatbelt all that they are just round blobs....no indication for what they are. So I emailed him and he said that you have to specifically request an underlay ...... but NOWHERE on the site does it say that.

So he said he would send me an underlay...gave me the tracking number....so far post office has NO record of it being received yet.

Just irks me....he doesn't seem to want to earn the business....well in my opinion anyway. He just didn't bother replying when I said that it didn't arrive in time....and that it was rather rediculous for it to take 2 weeks to ship when the website under shipping says ships out within 3 days.
