Default Little car(AC) problem...

ok, so i bought my tC a little over a year ago from Gladstone. Yesterday i noticed that the car when i turn the AC on, would surge ahead.

So today i did a few tests while driving around.

AC off, the car is just great.

AC turned on while using cruise control, you can feel the car kinda push and pull the entire time AC is turned on, turning it off will let the car run smooth again.

Sitting idle then turning the AC on, you can see the revs go up and down constantly.

basically, while driving the car with AC turned on(at any speed)the car simply runs real rough.

The car has 8500 miles on right now, not really did any mods that would affect this.

Anyone have any ideas, or heard of something simalar? I really need to take it back into gladstone to have them check it out but dang work is killign me right now.

Thanks for anyhelp

I'd take it in to have it looked at. Having AC on shouldn't affect the engine as much as you're experiencing.

The car's idle will go up a little when the AC is on this is normal especially if you are parked and not driving around.

Do you have any subs, amps, or stuff that would drain electricity? Even if it is not on just having that stuff works your battery hard and after a year or two you will need to replace your battery. Power Capacitors help prevent this issue.

Other than that it is under warrantee I would have the dealer check it out.

Good luck! I am sure they will take care of it for you.

Hi Davie.

Sorry to hear that your baby is running rough. When you can sneak a few minutes, I would suggest calling Jill, our Scion Service Advisor. She might be able to help, and if she isn't, maybe she can set up a convenient time for you to stop in. They do have some evening hours now...

I remember the day you picked up your Azure tC...hopefully we can make it better for you!

Yeah it should be warrantied so have them look at it for free, but honestly my a/t tC does the same thing. At idle its a little rougher and during cruise every now and then (like maybe every 15-20mins) you can feel it do like a small jolt from compressor surge. I think what your experiencing is normal but yeah def. have them check it out o be sure.
