Default lowering my tC, just wonderin what im getting myself into

i recently got myself a tC & everytime i look at it, i think it would look hella better if it was lower. so bascially im just asking for some input. anyone know what best for my tC, either going for just drop spring or full suspension. whats the price range am i looking at, cause im in the process of saving for it. & even more importanly, anyone know someone that can install it for me. either like a shop/dealership/or someone reputable. thanks for the help.

I got s techs which is one of the biggest drops for the tC. You can get it through this guy under my signature. Great prices and has alot of different things. I installed the springs myself and had no problems.

Good luck finding a place if you don't do it yourself.

If you need a place Xtreme Auto Salon in Federal Way does lowering and the person who is going to do mine was charging me around $250. If you want to use them let me know and i can tell you the person names and who referred you.

putting in the springs is actually pretty easy. you would need spring compressors and an air wratchet thingy...im sure theres a DIY around here somewhere...I know a guy in Lakecity that can install them for you. i think he charges about 70 an hour. he did mine. Just make sure you get the alignment done afterwards so that your tires don't wear out prematurely

Hey! I'm in basically the same area as you! I work in UP, but I am frequently in Lakewood as I live right off 74th.

Anyways, I have H&R Sport Springs on my car and I love them. They aren't a harsh ride like my Eibach Sportlines that I had on another car. The handling is imporved as well and I think the car sits nicely on the 18's. What kind of ride are you looking for? Do you want a stiff ride? What kind of handling do you want? Those will make a difference in what type of spring you get and what the cost is.

My fiancee works at Les Schwab so I got my springs through there and had them install them as well. Since he works there I didn't have to pay install, but they did the springs on both of my cars so that's an option. Plus, like mentioned, if you rent a spring compressor from Schucks or an automotive store, you can do them yourself. I'm sure someone could help you install them.

Les Schwab sounds like a good place. is there any chance you can ask around to see how much would they cost for ordering some H&R sport springs & tein s Tech springs & also installation. thanks alot if you find anything out. your tC rocks.

It is super easy, though not as easy as say an xB. But I have done 2 tC's and 4 xB'x. So from experience, have a helper and use the spring compressor and you should have it done in less than 2hours. Good luck.

TRD springs only (use stock shocks) the ride is very close to stock, the drop is not so dramatic that you need to worry about bottoming out. If you would like, you can come by the dealership and check out the tC we have here with this setup on 18's. Take it for a ride etc. We charge $595 installed.

Thanks for the compliments!

I talked to Brian about the springs and for everything . . . springs, labor, alignment it would run right around $550 ( those use stock struts as well ). If you went to his store ( the Spananway one ) he could take 10% off the price of the springs ( labor and alignment can't be discounted ). That price is for the H&R's as they can't get the Tein's.

Let me know if there's anything I can do! You are welcome to drive my car as well as I know purchasing anything like this is a big decision and you don't want to make the wrong one!

I just ordered the TRDs, I plan on installing them myself, then taking it to Les Schwab for the alignment... We'll see how it goes! Wish me luck!
