Default New Wheels For The xA

Hey everyone! So after 5 years on stock wheels, I finally caved in and purchased some nicer wheels. I decided to get the ENKEI RPF1's since they only weigh 10lbs. My stock ones weigh close to 40lbs I think. I guess I shaved off 120lbs with these new sets of wheels which surprisingly helps a bunch when the car launches from a dead stop.

I also installed some EBC slotted rotors and Hawk racing pads since my old pads just overheated too quickly.

I am going to get a chance to test everything out on the autocross track next Sunday at the Lincoln Air Park here in Nebraska. I'll see how it helps with my times. I can definitely launch faster now. What I am eager to see is whether or not these rotors will help dissipate the heat from my hard braking.

By the way, the Falken Azenis RT-615s are great for autocross (it is dirt cheap). If you wheel size is the stock 15", the RT-615 tires actually cost less than the stock tires that comes with the car.

Thanks Brian, I remember you told me about those wheels during one of those random nights when I came over to hang out....We'll see what the weight reduction does for the car on the track!

New wheels look good. They should improve handling, too, due to reduced unsprung weight - the suspension should have a lot better control of wheel movement.

Take care!

Nice! Finally!

Thought you would end up more like this though:

The testing of the new stuff was a success. Brake pads were great and the slotted rotors prevented any heat issues. The lightweight wheels gave me the ability to launch with ease. The Falken Azenis tires were so grippy in the sunlight!

The setup I have now is perfect...well minus the LSD. Coming out of the corners, the tires couldn't grip from the hard acceleration so all that power was wasted. Looks like I'll be looking to buy the LSD made for the Yaris Brian, lol since no one makes anything for this car.

I am fairly sure the LSD for the Yaris fits in the xA,I cannot imagine they changed anything inside the tranny over the years.......

I am very happy you were able to find a group of people to share interests in cars and racing with over there so soon......that is awsome.

Yes, I am 100% sure it will fit the xA. We both have the 1NZ-FE engines! =)
