Very simply, there is no excuse for Oregon...

last time i was there i waited like 10 mins before the slumdog came to pump my gas. the second i stepped out of the car she came running over yelling at me threatening to call the police.

Glad to see evereyone seems to be aware of this . I posted a link earlier today. I did do a search first, but didn't come up with anything so I put up the link which I see has been removed. You folks in Oregon need to band together and take care of business
On a Paul Harvey radio broadcast years ago, I remember hearing about some tax increase that was voted down by the people in some town in Oregon. A big fat "NO" and that was the end of the story. Here in PA we never get to vote on anything except what dumbass we put into office. Everything else is done without any input from the citizens.

hmm not allowing to mod= less stuff being purchased, less product being taxed, less people needed for the stores and jobs = even worse economy..... states keep making really stupid laws

What do you expect? Oregon is a socialist bunghole. NO offense to you guys, but that state is an effin' breading ground for this crap.

the thing I don't get is how do you buy tires for aftermarket rims? Obviously OEMs arent gonna fit. And how can you just say no to slicks...

This law is definitely a joke and has no chance of passing.

This will never pass. Not with advocacy groups like SEMA, and lobbyists from the automotive world. It'll never happen. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.

IIRC they said the same thing about strict mandatory emission testing, too...

This is ridiculous. Kulon-douche-ski needs to focus on more urgent matters such as our record high employment rate, the education system, and the meth epidemic. By passing this law he is targeting small businesses and specialty shops that offer these parts & services. Therefore, adding to the unemployment rate. This isn't limited to just the import or off road scenes but could also affect companies such as Les Schwab.

While I see your point, I think the emissions testing has more to do with the environment directly.

The only problem is that enviromental effects is what this new bill is being hung on, too - I.E. don't allow soft tires with high rolling resistance (summer performance tires) because they wear fast and waste fuel. Same with wider tires using more fuel and polluting more, etc. The tie-in he's purposely making is to the environment. (Or in other words, he knows which buttons to push...)
