Default Paint shops... evvilll - My plan...YOUR help!

So now I realize after yesterdays and todays running around for paint shops proved to be an expensive one...

For those that have seen my car and it's recent damage thanks to some local a$$es, the estimated total after visiting 10 shops between Tacoma and Everett ranged around $600 to $5000)

A few recommended I'd get a full exterior repaint of the car, others believed I should just fix the rear bumper and take it to a detail shop to get the marks out of the car, some figured just replace the rear bumper and many thought about what the hell a "Skyon" was...

The lowest for the marks and crap would probably be CorryAnn's Dad though I still need to call him and arrange a time to meet up with him...Either way though the rear bumper will need to be repainted and the entire front end is so rock chip ridden that even if I was to show it as some shows that it wouldn't get much attention simply because of just how many chips and such.

Kirmax of Bellevue however is considering really sweet deal though after talking to some at a new location they are building in Bellevue that I am helping out with...If that goes well, I'll have a nicely resprayed car, same color... 3M'ed in the front, and mirrors for nice deal...

My plan though as I ramble onward is to simply make it "presentable" when I do decide to go to shows on what a little bit of money can make an xA look like.

So for that I need your help on...!

I am looking for the following...

1. Tint shop...Only want to go like 25% on it.

2. Alarm.. Clifford perferred but nothing crazy expensive. 2-way page style would be sweet...

3. Wheels. Kekai, Allie, and Erik are giving me ideas with that section along with a set I found at Discount Tires and Les Schwab. I'm not sure on the tires though. You've seen how I drive.. if not, I drive pretty damn hard sometimes..I don't mind paying too much but it's not going on a track.. twisty roads however, yes.

3. I have the progressive rear sway bar..Should I get the DCSports Front Sway?

4. Springs! I am gonna roll with 18's...I would like to drop it around 1.5" to 2" Not too stiff.. It's a daily driver and a road tripper but remember, I love my twistys...

5. Header and Exhaust.. I love the DCSports header and Exhaust.. both look and sound sweet. Your thoughts?

6. That's all! Your thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated. It'll be a nice little roller to cruise around in until I trade in the car for the xD (maybe, still have to see it in person and test drive it)

Thank you all =)

Time to start transforming my little egg into something more presentable. I must admit, my xA at Excelerator looked pretty darn silly with everyone else's which is probably why I don't show up all that much lol

I love the list of what you want to do...

I don't know many shops down there so I am sure others would know more.. All the places I know are up here in the north end that could hook you up on that.

My opinion on rims and tires is Discount tires, typcially the best prices and better service.

Springs, I am thinking the Tein would be your best bet. I haven't ridden on them yet so I am not certain how they ride, but I think they'll give you the heighth that you want

Do you have a upper strut bar?

Clifford alarm is the best to go.. Just don't go to Car toys... That's my opinion. Again, I am not sure of the shops down there and now that Magnolia is gone I am not sure what shops are good that aren't too expensive.

Tint same thing I know of shops here that are good, but not so much down there.

Sorry I wasn't much help but then again I don't live near you.. If I find someone or hear about someone I will let you know

1 & 2. Tint & alarm, see if you can get a package deal, as said above there are tons of shops just compare warranties adn price.

3. As far as performance parts, ebay and craigslist, installs are for the most part easy and prices are always competitive there.
3.1. Roll with what you think will look good, after all you are paying for it, not the people who knock it!

4. Springs = H-techs... maybe hit up Noah (skulls & candy) see if he still has his for sale (if they will work on an xA, can't remember)

5. Same as 3.1 go w/ what you like, its all quality parts you are naming!

As far as your car looking silly...just remember, all of ours came off the lot stock, and we all had/ have dreams of what we want to do / have done. In other words a car never looks silly, unless you make it that way on purpose (McDonalds sitckers, etc.).

I think you would be in full swing of modding your car if you saw the other Brian who used to own an xA. His was nice. :D

But as for car alarms, Car Toys is inexpensive.

And tint, theres Auto Trim which is in Tukwila.

Kirkland, Bellevue is fine. I've only been working in that area since forever =P

I've been keeping in my pretty heavily on Discount Tires. The guys in Auburn have a list waiting for me to pick up tomorrow. I've been looking at the Enkei GF-1's or the Enkei RSV's...

Nope, I don't at all.

Magnolia is gone?? Something I miss? I drove by one on 8th NE today I thought?

I can get wholesale prices on parts as well as Erik (downhillspec) can. So if you need anything new hit us up. The list looks good and you know what you want. Good luck dude!

Hey Mac,

I live in Kent too. Just purchased an 08 xB.

I'm just gonna sit back and listen.

I was thinking of trying that AutoTrim place in Tukwila. They are installing my sunroof for the dealer, so I figured they would at least be decent.
