Default PNW Specific - MySpace Style - Survey!

I'm sorry if this is more WA than PNW. I just figure you all live vicariously through us anyway ;). joking

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world?

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from?

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show?

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake?

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington?

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation)

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"?

Any other fond memories or things PNWish you'd like to mention?

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world?
Edmonds - Stevens Hospital

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from?
N/A

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show?
Absolutely. I can't even tell you how excited I was when they started doing replays of the show.

My favorite skits are any where they make fun of people in specific areas of the state (which accounted for like what, 80% of all skits?). But all time favorite is the John Report. "This is John and here is my report".

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake?
I was at home with the two of my children (the other wasn't due for another 2.5 years, lol). I freaked out and we ran under an open stair case thing we had. We stayed there for a good hour before getting out as I was scared of aftershocks.

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?
Seriously... I asked the question and want to know your answers. I was seriously skeeved this summer when we went.

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington?
My whole family does and amazingly enough, I do not.

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation)
Yes.

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"?
Shh... yes, twice. But that was over ten years ago. Nothing like smoking weed in front of a police officer, eh?

Any other fond memories or things PNWish you'd like to mention?
When they were predicting Mt. St. Helens to erupt back in the early 80s, my distinctly remember my mother tucking me into bed, telling me about it. What she didn't tell me was that there wasn't going to be lava oozing into my room, to which I kept a careful eye out for until sleep over came me.

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world? Tacoma General (HILLTOP!)

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from? Didn't move away till I was 21, lived in Southshore Tahoe, Havasu, LA, Hawaii, and Oregon (Medford and Eugene)

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show? I remember the show, not anything particular about it (STML)

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake? Lived in Oregon.

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing? I was there once... soon after realizing the 1000's of peeing kids... opted for the non-water rides

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington? No

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation) Yes

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"? I support Hempfest as a voulenteer and I arranged a sponsorship with Scion 2 years in a row! I can't seem to indulge and keep my life together so I opt out personally, however there are a variety of other great messages at hempfest with regards to medicinal and industrial uses as well as a variety of interesting political views in general. The music doesn't suck either... I especially like Late September Dogs...

Any time in the San Juans (any of the islands)

Ah, yes. The midnight "The Wall"! I went to that probably 25 times.

Ferries... I rode lots, back and forth to Poulsbo. My grandfather had water front, 4 houses down from the Hood Canal bridge.

The Kingdome and seeing footage of it imploding on Max X, lol.

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from?

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show?
Yes. Love it. Get excited to watch it still. Fav skits: "Be Like Billy", "Sluggy", and a tie between the "Ballard Driving School" and the "Factoria vs. Bellevue Squares". And yes...I used to have Kent hair!!!

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake?
Ummm...This was actually Feb 28th, 2001! I remember distinctly because just a month before this I had been hit head-on at 50mph and this day I was actually at UWMC-Roosevelt (on the 4th floor). I had been suffering from PTSD so when it started I was just calm, detatched, and zoning out...while my dr. & nurses were freaking out. I made them all get into doorways and my chart notes reflect how I had helped them. It took almost 45 min before the bldg was cleared for people to leave and another 30 for me to get to ground level because they had to carry all of the injured down the stairs.

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?
I used to have my bday parties there when it was Enchanted Village. I agree...it gets skankier every year!!!

LOL.. I was from Lynnwood and had Lynnwood hair and makeup, lol! I didn't like Sluggy and how on earth did I not mention Ballard Driving School?!?!

Ah, my bad on the date. Odd... I did a Google search on Nisqually Quake and I think it was the first website I came up with, had that date. You have an excellent time reference on the date so I'll believe you, lol. And wow... I'm glad you've seemingly came out of that accident okay!

And about Hempfest... I did go twice and participate fully twice but it's been many a year since I last smoked, lol.

^^No worries...etched in my memory. I spent the next couple of hours trying to find my brother, Andy, (age 14 at the time and going to school at UW) and totally forgot my sister, Kayla, (age 8 at the time) was over at Burke museum that day.

Oh yeah...and Kelly sat through the whole event on the couch at our family home in Sumner. Its always safer to stay inside as far as possible because that house is in the forest and so many trees fell.

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world?
Seattle, WA - Swedish Hospital

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from?
I've lived in Washington my whole life, but I've spent my whole life moving all over.

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show?
Yes, I remember... I didn't care for it.

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake?
I was in Science class. My teacher was so giddy, all he could say was, "Guys, this is an earthquake! We're having an earthquake! Oh, get under your tables!" Most of us were already under, haha. Someone else was lke, "It's Jazbec running up the ramp!" Jazbec was a pretty huge heavyset substitute that nobody liked (and not because he was big, he just was really unpleasant). Then apparently Mr. Kong (drama teacher who didn't last very long) was like, "Who shaking de building, who shaking de buildin?!?!" Yeah. That's what I was doing.

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?
I don't know, I haven't been recently.. it's probably recent. I don't remember it being nasty at all. But then again, I was a kid. I like the displays they put on for different holidays though!

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington?NO!!!! UGH. That bugs the sh*t out of me.

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation)
Yes I do.

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"?
Nope, I sure haven't.

Any other fond memories or things PNWish you'd like to mention?
I love the PNW. I don't want to leave and we plan to retire here, no doubt about it!

Oh yeah.. and the Kingdome. I went there a lot as a child with my biological dad. He also proposed to my mom there.. was the first to do so and it was also in the paper. The destruction of it was sad.

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world? Tongue Point Naval Dispensary in Astoria, OR (when the Navy had it, not Job Corps)

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from? Spent part of my childhood in Federal Way and the other half in Santa Maria, CA

4 What were you doing Feb 21, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake? Sitting in a Red Cross class and the teacher didn't know whether to tell us to dive under the table or run outside. 5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing? Funny that I've never been there myself but I'd dropped the kids off before. (evil mother)

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington? It was beaten out of me in elementary school.

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation) I think so. The question is, how about Skagit and Puyallup??

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"? No but I've been to the Barter Fair and the first ever Rainbow Family Gathering.

Any other fond memories or things PNWish you'd like to mention?
Santa Claus Village in Federal Way.
Midway Drive In
Digging for goeyducks
Going to SeaTac Airport to hang out (and maybe see someone famous in Customs or some other gate)... Can you remember not going through any security??
Going to the Daffodil Parade in Puyallup and catching real daffodils from the floats.
Ferrell's Ice Cream Parlor at Southcenter Mall when it was your birthday and a band came out.
Going to high school football championships at the Kingdome.

1. If you were born in the PNW, what city and hospital had the honor of bringing you into the world?

Wasn't born up here. Born in Agana Heights, Guam.

2. If you did not spend your childhood years here, what inferior area of the US did you come from?

It's kinda funny, really. While I've lived out here since I was 7, my dad was in the Navy for most of my kid years. So, Navy Brat = all over. Including (not in order, and definitely not limited to) Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Virginia, Guam obviously.

3. Do you remember "Almost Live"? What is your favorite skit from that show?

I do remember the John Report and the High Fivin' White Guys. And I think there was a sketch called Mind Your Manners or something like that WITH BILLY QUAN

4 What were you doing Feb 28, 2001 when we had the big 6.8 Nisqually earthquake?

I remember it vividly. I was driving down the Wheaton Way bridge on the way to the turn off to Olympic College. As I turn the corner, the quake hit. I swore it felt like I jumped a curb or something, so I thought nothing of it. As I drove forward into the parking lot, the giant windows of the library in front of me were freakin' rattling! It was awesome! Everyone evacuated the buildings and off to their cars, so I rolled my window down and was like, "what happened?" the guy replied, "it was an earthquake, dude". Hahah

5. Wild Waves... is it just because we're older now that we notice how nasty the place is, cleanliness wise, or is this a recent thing?

I don't really go there. *shrug* Never really went there at all, actually.

6. Do you add an "r" to Wash and Washington?

No. Those people should be sent to 4th Grade where you learn how to not add unnecessary letters to words. Words like "sawl" and "drawl"?!?!?!?!?! WTF

7. Do you say "Oregon" correctly? (If you're not sure, reach out to us and we'll guide you through the proper pronunciation)

It's OR-AGAIN, right? Please don't tell me it's ORI-GONE.

8. Have you ever been to "Hempfest"?

Nah.

Any other fond memories or things PNWish you'd like to mention?

Not much to remember, other than I made a lot of my life altering decisions here. Oh...and I bought my tC here! =P
