Hey- I got my tC a few weeks ago and opted not to go with the dealer OEM tint as it was too expensive. I do, however, want to tint my windows, not only for the coolness factor but to protect interior etc... and I wanted to know if anybody knows a good reasonably priced tint shop in the Portland metro area. I've never tinted windows before so I don't know what the pricing structure is like... I know OR law is 35% all around.. anyone have pics of what that looks like?

 

I went to Tommy's Tint for my xb, I believe it's on 12th and Morrison. I had my wifes car tinted at Ultimate Window Tint on 76th and hwy 99 in Vancouver. Ultimate charged 239 I think and that was for a Mazda3 wagon and they used 3M tint which is awesome if you feel like a quick drive I'd go there if I was you.

 

in hillsburrow right off of highway 8 or 10...there is a place called alexa's or alexia's...i dont remember wich one, but they are reasonably priced and have been doing work with my work for a long time.

I thought Alexia's was in Beaverton? Also try Speed Concepts in Aloha, the guys that do tint there used to work for Alexia's. A co-worker had his xA done there, turned out great.

 

man, there is a place in vancouver that does an amazing job. They go right to the edge of the window and you have 1 free replacement if you damage the tint. I had my xB and Celica done there and have never had a problem.

I had mine done at Speed Concept, special price and no complaints. Matches nicely with the back. Had to sign a little waiver slip.

 

I got mine done @ solar eclipse in Vancouver it's on 140th and Mill Plain. The owner Chris will take care of you. He has done mx xB, matrix , my friends tc and another xb on the board. his number is 573-tint. you can see my profile for pics of his work.

 

Just got an email quote on my tc from tommys tint in se portland- 185, and it has a lifetime gurantee! Can neplace beat that?

 

Take that qoute to Alexias... I bet they'll beet it... I got mine for 185 all tinted, PLUS a computer cut visor tint for the front window.

They do an amazing job... I'm on my third car through them....

 

Anybody got a closeupish pic of their 35% tint? Don't really know what that tint grade looks like.

 

tint is really hard to take a good pic of. Best bet is find someone with tint or ask the tint shops to show you the different %'s.

 

Yep... you could see mine at sharis or the show tomarrow... It's not as dark as you would want... Dissapointed that oregon's law is so tight on it... I want darker for sure....

I got my Tc tinted at Alexia's in Beaverton for $175 - they will probably beat your first estimate.
I've taken all my cars there (prior cars), and they do an amazing job!
Not to mention, they do all the Tint Jobs for the BMW Dealership on Cedar Hills.

 

Dropped off the tC @ alexia's this morning- 185 for the whole car, w/ the infinity tint. Hope it turns out.... hard to make the decision between the infinity and the regular hg charcoal. anybody know the huge diff? They said that the infinity will look the same as the hg except if its wet out or dark it will look like a mirror.
