RIP Dave Niehaus Mariners anouncer 1977-2010
Beat me to it Kekai.......
God Dave will indeed be missed,I remember him from the begining in 1977 at the first game.....
He made the game simple to understand, entertaining to watch, and he had a love for the game that was plain to see to any who listened to him.
I actually teared up when I heard he passed,he has been a part of baseball in my life for so many years......
Bye Dave......you made baseball fun for us in the PNW......

one of the best quotes i've read about Niehaus from Jerry Brewer's wife, (seattle times sports reporter)
"When we suck, it won't be the same," my wife just said. "We suck now, but we suck in a different way. It's, like, manufactured sucking. Back then it was, like, fatalistic sucking. The Mariners were kind of lovable losers. No expectations. They didn't know what they were doing, but Dave Niehaus did."
