For those who do not know Sakura-can is the Northwest's largest Anime/Japanese culture festival. It is going on April 6-8 in downtown Seattle @ the Washington State Trade & Convention Center (the thing you pass under on I-5 in Seattle). It is $35 for a 1 day pass and $60 for a 3-day pass. This is a must for any Anime lovers or people just interested in Japanese culture. Carpooling is recomended since they are expecting over 7,000 people and you know how the parking is in Seattle .

I'm very interested, for the sake of my older two boys. I'm shocked by the prices though.

I'm going to need some mulling over time. I mean, paying $100 for myself and two children... yikes. I suppose I'll have to take a gander at the link sometime here soon and see if it can convince me or see how crazy the boys are about the deal (duh, of course they'd love it).

 

If we get like 10-20 confirmed I will call and see if we can get a discount for a group...

We're definitely going, probably just on Saturday. She's happy that SL'ers are going because now I have people that I have common interest with going (I haven't really been able to really "get into" the con scene myself. Maybe some of you veterans can get me hooked on it more.).

Is there a good explanation of what all goes on at this place on that website? I'm looking and don't really see one. Will there be lots of Avatar, Pokemon, Dragonball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh crap there that is fun to look at and not buy? lol

^ There are usually vendors/ displays, a stage to watch live action & traditional Japanese theatre, an area to watch anime, and places to meet various people involved in either Manga or Anime like directors voice-over actors and so on, so it is usually quite a lot of fun...
