You can drive to Whidbey using Deception Pass. Gorgeous drive.

Sheep, remember when we did that poker run???

That is the exact route that we would take to get to fort casey & all other places on whidbey island.

ya i know, i am creating some complications for the group ha ha ha. I am sure my car will make it, but not sure if i want to chance it and hold up everyone that's in line to get on the ferry

Default The Summer Drives

I was hoping to plan a few summer drives Well three one in
June, July, & Aug. Possable tow on Jule an all drive and a over 21 frive to Red Hook.
As Brad has pointed out many times, as he is HMFIC we are a north end group so places to go other than the one mentioned would have to be determened. Problably by suggestion and then be poll.
Also Brad we should have some shows as well. Since your in charge I think that you and or Sheep should start thinking about a day time, month for something like this.
Sorry about calling you out on this, but car clubs are about shows, drives, and the like.

Northend group primarily, but no reason we can't have meets/drives in more places than Alderwood.

Honestly, that's just what has worked SO FAR so I haven't changed it. I'm of course available for any opinions anyone has regarding events, etc.

And being that I've never had any sort of SHOW CAR, etc I know a lot of people here, such as Sheep, Shawn, etc are more familiar with the hows and whos and wheres and all that happy stuff.

In conclusion?
---Shows? Definitely! Let's pick a time that several of us can get together and meet REGARDING THIS (seperate from our monthly get together and BS meets)

---Drives? Suggest stuff. If people react positively, such as in this case, it'll be a go. If you post something and no one replies and it gets 5 hits over 30 days... probably not gonna happen!

Another good drive to suggest is around the Hood Canal. It's a longer one, but lots of curvy fun roads and great scenery. You can take the Edmonds ferry to Kingston then head over the floating bridge, then head south around the canal. Go all the way down to Belfair then back up to Port Orchard and catch the Southworth ferry to West Seattle and return home. Just a thought for people who might like a little longer drive and don't mind paying for a couple ferry rides.

Just throwing an idea out there...

I am all for shows but not necessarily Scikotics shows simply because most of us are not "show" cars.

Drives: Like mentioned above, lets post an idea and see how it is received. Just like always.

It doesn't matter what position you hold in any of the local clubs. You can always suggest fun ideas and we will support.........

If the whole ferry thing won;t work for some (Shawn, etc) isn't there a way to get to Whidbey via Arlington or something?
We could always do that... It avoids the annoying ferry lines
The reason I picked thr ferry was to aviod the long drive to Anacortis also to try and save the expence of gas, + it is a boring drive.
Another option is that we do two groups and hit it from North and South. The North route is a much faster drive to the fort. thus missing the great drive up to the fort from the South.

Either way I could take the Ferry group route and either Brad or Mike[sheep] could take the North group route.
Bruce C.
Also as posted the hood canel would be a great drive, Mount. Baker, the Chucklenut road are other just to name a few. I am sure that there are a whole host of other North of Seattle ferry & non ferry drives.
I would like to do a 21 and over event to Red Hook in woodenville.
Lets get the idea pot going.
I just wish gas would stop going up in price :p A tank now is well over $30.00 and if things keep going the way they ae I am sure that $40.00 could soon be the norm.

Just a suggestion. My wife and I are always going to Fort Worden in Port Townsend. Much bigger than Fort Casey as far as bunkers and stuff. Casey still has the big guns up but the bunkers are funner at Worden. Besides, the best Mexican food i've had in Washington is at Port Townsend.

We could just do the loop of the 'Triangle of Death'. That includes the forts that protected the sound. Worden, Casey, and Flagler. My wife could be our tour guide. She knows more about the forts than anyone I know.

Just an idea.

Hey, ya'll battle it out and get it planned for some time in June I would say. Keep in mind any already planned car shows and events and we will roll with whatever.....

Might be best to start a new post and then use the poll option to gauge interest......

If somebody pays for my gas I'll go!

Gas prices are way too ridiculous for joyriding.

lets stay with Fort Casey for may. for the June drive Fort Worden in Port Townsend. Does this sound OK? Ck out a new poll as we'll put it to a vote. I am all for being democratic. Any new suggestion for the June drive Please put it in to a new post with a poll. Thank you.
