spun rod bearing at 79k
spun the rod bearing in my 06 tc sat night. wasnt even being hard on the car and it was full of oil. WTF! newer cars are suppost to last alot longer before something breaks. my 86 jetta had 325k on it before it spun its rod bearing. oh well get to rebuild it the way i want
well its going to cost me $1,100 to have the bottom end rebuilt. im going to get cams, clutch w/ lw flywheel, lighten pulley and prob something else to add to the list. do u need to tune it to run cams?
well got the money to rebuild the motor. motor well be out in a few day then off to the shop. im going to buy wp, timing kit, sep belt, clutch(maybe lw flywheel). should i buy a oil pump? it should last for a while still?
I just did the timing stuff while I was in there, but good idea doing the wp while you're in there, I've been through like.. 4 of those.. some say my car should be considered a lemon with my luck on repairs..
Anyway, best of luck, mine is running strong after recovering from this, it's ridiculous though that it happened.

car is back up and running. i ended up just buying a used motor (it only had 21k on it) and a new stock clutch so i could start driving it. funds got low bc of the holidays so i did it the chaeper route for now. xmas present to me is getting my car back.
