Default Why Everett Sucks by Kanchi & Wicked_1

As some of you may know already we had our house broken into on Friday during the day. First of all damn you who ever did this. No one was hurt, nor our cats or cars so that is why I will let you live if I find you! Our house was trashed, jewlery that has been passed down in our families was taken, our computers, and some other semi precious items including the hard copy dvd of all of our wedding pictures (which was in one of the laptops), but again no one was hurt. All of our checks were stollen, and one fraudlent check has been written so for but the bank knows, so we are safe.

All of our windows now have wood blocks in them, and the officicer "feels" that the "kids responsible for this" won't be back, I just hope for their sake that's true. All in all our insurance will cover the items lost, replace items stollen but you can never replace that feeling of never feeling comfortable again in your own home. To quote a Calvin & Hobbes comic strip "A man's house should be his castle, it shouldn't have to be fortress."

I just want to say to all of you from someone that did not think that this would/ could happen to them, be thankful for the day to day things you have in your life, the things you take for granted: like family, your health, a safe/ secure home, money to go out to dinner the other night with your friends, your freinds (especailly the ones you can call and be there before you are even off the phone with them, Love you Dan), and every other reason you are celebrating this time of year.

Oh wow oh wow. I'm so very sorry to hear about that. I've come close to feeling such violation but that was with car, not my precious belongings, which reside in our house.

I'm glad that you two are okay, other than the heartbreak and insecurity you must feel now. You have a good reminder in there... the second one I've had in so many months (neighbor was robbed) that I really should, at the very least, get a safety deposit box.

I hope they catch the person/s involved and can retrieve your stuff (crossing fingers... neighbor was that lucky) and will put you two in some prayers.

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers and concerns.

At first, I was real upset that they took presents we had bought for my little siblings... now I am thinking about my comfort level around the house- that place may never feel the same.

A heart-warming story from all this though...

They stole some of Erik's Hot Wheels and special cars he had displayed in the living room... my little step brother who is seven came to me yesterday with a little hot wheel car that Erik had given him special two weeks ago...he came to me and asked me to help him wrap it. I told him that Erik had given that car to him, and he didn't have to give it back. He replied, "I know, but they stole all of Erik's cars, and I want him to be able to have this special one..." I had to fight tears while I helped him wrap it "special"

Then, last night when my littlest brother went to say dinner prayer, he said "Thank you for today, and the food, and that we have a good tomorrow....and that Bethany gets all her presents back..."

And while cuddling in bed with the little boys, they asked me why someone would want to steal someone else's stuff and presents. I tried to explain it... the boy's conclusion to this was, "I bet the bad men are on Santa's naughty list, thats why they stole presents... now all they REALLY get is coal...."

Merry Christmas everyone!

Bless you both Like everyone else if I can help in any way please let me know. This really sucks so close to the holidays and I ahve heard reports of a lot of people getting broken into this time of year and people taking advantage of the power loss since alarms are down and breaking in and taking all kinds of things.

I know that this does not make you feel any better to know that you are not the only ones, but in retrospect. It is still the holiday season and miricales happen all the time. Maybe they will catch the f***ker. I hate theives.

Have a good foliday my firends

Thank you guys for your concern at this time we'll see what the insurance company is gonna do, other than that we just have to clean up. It was really weird though...they opened presents and our safe but missed a $7K cahier's check in the hallway, the keys to the xB on the table w/ the xB in the garage, opened up the ps2 from its box and did not take it! Weird...and why did they open up all the windows in the front of the house and unlock the front door?

Erik & Bethany...please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do for you two!

Remember...I can round up a vigilante group with torches & pitchforks if needs be...

I'm sorry that this happened to you and at this time of the year. Does anyone have copies of your photos? Erik...I still have the green xB you gave me if you want it back...what other cars went missing? And if you need help with computers, we have tons of parts around the house we can slap together! I am so very thankful that you guys, your pets, and the new torched penny were okay...I just wish that things like this didn't happen!

Take care and have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones which are so much more valuable than material items!!!

I am sorry for all your loss, but remember what goes around really does come around.

Ugh, it feels like there's a crime spree in Everett. Someone attempted to break into one of my banks (that I work for) there over the weekend - vandalized the ATM and coin star machine, drilled a hole in the hall, destroyed our lobby security cameras. Then he drew some swastikas and left. He was like 50 and stupid enough to keep looking directly into the cameras.

It looks like Everett PD has their work cut out for them this month - I hope they're able to find the guys. Were any of the stolen items engraved or were you able to provide any serial numbers? If you feel like playing detective, check out the pawn shops, ebay, craigslist, etc.

***UPDATE*** We recieved a call last night from the bank as one of them was trying to cash a check. The police were called and one of them was apprehended! He was charged with 2 class C felonies: Possension of stollen property, and check forgery! I am not sure what kind of a sentence that carries but I hope it is long and he gets sodomized in prison (JK..well actually...)! The police say they now have a good lead and think they will get the girl that had the checks! I can honestly say it felt really good to see them take him out of the bank in hancuffs, I was clapping as they did!

Thank you guys for all of your prayers and support, looks like its paying off, for us...not them!
