I hope that they can recover the sentimental items such as the photo disk and the heirloom jewelry!

From experience...keep on the police!!! Kelly & I once had our car broken into in our apartment garage right before xmas 2000...same thing - toys, checkbook in glove compartment, CDs all gone...

The Seattle police caught one of the guys and let him go because they could really care less. Even after we had presented them with the video tape footage of their crime spree (breaking into over 12 cars and stealing 2 of them) as proof of what they had done. This guy was even part of a theft ring...but alas the police "had bigger fish to fry" was the story of why they let him out and never prosecuted.

So frustrating!!!

Congrats! What bank had the honor of busting these guys? And they actually called you down there to witness?

wow that is so cool, There can be a very long sentance with that one especially if they have priors. Forgery of Bank checks carries a federal feloney conviction just to let you know. So they could have a very tough time of things. I hope that they at least recover some of your things. thank God for you it sounds as if they were stupid thieves, and you guys covered your basis well.

FYI the bank is Washington Mutual, and the first check came back and had the other person's driver's liscence number on it, although we think its fake. If they really are that stupid, I hope they were as lazy as they were dumb and haven't gotten rid of anything yet...

Stupid, lazy and dumb... that sums up a majority of thieves

Erik that sucks man. Let me know if there's anything I can help you out with. That's awesome that they got one of them though. I hope they like federal prison

Newer Update:

We were able to locate the branch that cashed the first forge check, narrowed it down to the second the girl cashed the check. All PD has to do is ask for the video tape and follow up on the WDL number on the check.

At this point the frustrating parts are waiting for someone to tell us whats going on, or even to do SOMETHING, and not feeling safe in your own home...

If we could get an alarm system on the house, like I got for the xB, that would be killer!

*chirp chirp* House is armed....
