So, for discussions sake, what does everyone like about either of these consoles (if you own one)?
Wii: easy to play a quick game, virtual console is sweet, i like the different approach to gameplay. I have Link, excite truck and Wii Play.. i think Wii Sports is still the best (im a sucker for bowling).

For the PS3: Of course the graphics. amazing! I like the downloadable content as well (I just bought Flow today.. highly reccomended). Blu-Ray is, just, awesome... I look forward to being able to also download and play PS1 games on the PS3. Genji is fun, but im really excited for Motorstorm (and God of War II).
Both are great consoles, wireless is so sweet.

i hate my PS3....it got sent back to the factory for warranty work less that a week after i got it. the damn thing over heated and some how warped the disc inside and then that being stuck burnt out the motor....crazyness


and i dont think the graphics are too much better than my regular xbox

 

I'm a big Wii fan.... I've heard PS3 is having REALLY dissapointing sales this month and Wii and 360 are doing really well...

For the money... the Wii is plain awesome and really fun...

 

You didn't need to pick up a PS3 to play God of War II. =P

I have a Wii and I refuse to spend my money for a PS3. A 360, MAYBE, but not a PS3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is not enough to sway me away from my Wii.

 

No i didnt, however, ill tell ya what, having a wireless controller and being able to turn off the system with it is freakin priceless. I didnt have a PS2 or a PS1, so its totally worth it to me.. 3 sweet consoles in one, plus a blu-ray player. So im catching up on all the sweet PS2 titles i never got to play (Shadow of the Colossus, GOW, Bully, Devil May Cry, Tekken, Virtura Fighter, etc).

 

I have a Wii. I don't know what my ID is though.

It'll be a long while before I get a PS3. I think it will be a good system. I just don't think it is being utilized correctly right now. Give it another year of development, and it'll be amazing.

I'll be getting a 360 very soon.

 

I own a 360 and my lil bro has a Wii...we don't even want/care about the ps3...The 360 owns when it comes to graphics/awesome games but the Wii is by far the most fun system ever. Is it me or does EVERY game on the PS3 have a blurred look to it? I havne't seen a single game that doesn't have that blurred effect, it gives me a headache. Also, nobody cares about blu-ray right now...it's going to be a long while before DVDs phase out

 

My PS 1 ROCKS!!! It only plays upside down for some reason though...

I finally played my first game of Guitar Hero last night. I admit, it was slightly entertaining, lol. I'm pretty good at "Rock this town" or whatever it's called.

 

I have a Wii and it rocks. My friends and I have wii parties (no it's not a sausage fest - haha) every couple weeks or so. Crack open a case of beer, throw on some party games like Monkey Ball, Rayman, Wii sports, or Wario Ware and we're good to go! I also have Zelda (epic game), Need for Speed Carbon (simply awesome controls) and Madden '07 (you have to play this title) as well as a few older titles I downloaded...Mario 64, Zelda:Link to the Past, and Solomon's Key.

Also, the wavebird for the Gamecube works very well with all the classic games. You don't have to buy that extension controller.

I'll consider a PS3 in a couple of years when it's worthy of my monies.

I have a Wii, my little bro has a 360, and I have pretty much every mainstream console previous... and some off-beat ones too...

I gotta say I've never had as much fun with a console as the Wii. The controler is pure brilliance...

Wii is by far the most fun console I have ever owned, but I guess I haven't spent enough time playing it cuz I don't know my ID or how to play online with others if that's possible.

 

I love my ps3... it is a mini space heater but it has to consume 360W continuous to run. I bought it to play vids, be my music server and watch HD blue ray movies My bud has a 360. By the way, blue ray is winning the war for HD dvd's and it is NICE that it comes with the ps3.

We hooked both his 360 and my ps3 up on component video set to 1080i on his HD the ps3 ALWAYS looked better period. He noticed this as well and was bummed haha. Fine details were better, light shading was better. Just better overall video period on a HD monitor I changed my ps3 to hdmi, could not see a difference between the component video.... You can definitly tell the difference on a large screen between the two like on my 65"hd. Sorry 360 fanboys, I am not running out to buy one anytime soon after comparing head to head. Feature for price, the ps3 kicks the 360's ****. I use features like the blue ray player, I use the built in 54G wireless, I use the extra 40gb of hardive space... that is just scratching the surface. To get the same set of features on an xbox your looking at a lot more coin than a ps3. However I do envy your game selection at the moment! I am just hanging in there for the new command and conquer and the new unreal.

With either of them, you will be happy with the graphics.. even though they are at the level my pc game machine was at 4 years ago hahaha.


As for the wii.... dear god I want one and cannot get my hands on one locally *LOL*
