Check if your homeowners / renters insurance will cover it. It's personal property after all, auto will almost certainly not since it's not permanently attached to the vehicle.

I know this sucks....but do check with renters/or home owners insurance, also check your car insurance,if you have interior items insured you may be partially covered.....

But just so you know........as a former tweeker and former felon......I looked for people like you back in the day.......car alarm never stopped anyone.....and most the time in the nicer neighborhoods I found not a thing locked up even, cars open, homes open....

If I can reach in and take it out it is mine......lesson learned.....it sucks but that is how it goes sometimes....been there on both sides of that coin.

Criminals usually go to places like that to do their crimes so there should've been more precaution taken, and besides, I would think that the temperature change in a car would be too erratic for the laptop.

GOOD LUCK. That's really messed up. I wont say what I would do to someone I caught doing that. Lets just say THEY would be praying for the police to arrive.

I feel your pain... I was down in belltown about a year ago when someone shattered my rear passenger window. Took my gps, iphone, credit cards etc....it made me feel super violated! Wish our cars came standard with a REAL alarm system!

Yup, that crap suck man; I feel for you. I have never been robbed at home but I can imagine it is a ____ty feeling. Heck, I don't even lock my car when I am home most of the time; I have even left it running in the driveway, door open for 30+ minutes on several occasions.

Hopefully you can get it covered and get your stuff back. This time maybe don't buy a Mac and get a better computer for 500 bucks and pocket 2k.

If it makes you feel better my car had the back window smashed out and it got keyed and spray painted when I was living in Everett a few years ago. Then I was at the gym a couple months back and the smashed out my driver side window... All they took was my air freshener and my friends bag of candy. Didn't take my iPods xbox games car parts tools etc. They did manage to spill my energy drink all over my seats and mats. Also, to this day my seatbelt doesn't work properly cause glass got down in the buckle. Sorry to hear about that though it definitely sucks

Update again. Talk to the detective today. They are tracking down the IP address. Talking to Comcast to find the location and address. They are ready to rattle some cages and get my computer back.
