Default Big Bear MTN

How many of you have gone to Big bear Mountain with your xb. just curious to know if the xb has any trouble making it up there.

I'm guessing a manual might be easier to go up with skis boards food and passengers up the hill

Thanks

I went up a few weeks ago with no issues. Just have to use 3rd and 4th gear most of the time.

Is yours a manual or auto, and did you feel you were working the car to hard?

Oh and did you have passengers?

Thanks. I live in Orange so come winter I'll be going the same route as you prob do

that 241 is a pita though on he way back I always feel the car too slow only going at 40mph, cnt go any faster

Mine is manual. I had my fiancee with me. It felt a little sluggish, but don't expect to be doing warp speed going up!

i've only gone up there when snowing, the box handles great w/ stock wheels and rubber
.....i think i was the only Scion up there on 3/11 i was sporting chains all that weekend.
the only suspension mod i had that time was the DC strut bar and my A/T didn't really hesitate to run uphill, slow enough to take the slow lane but fast enough to pass people.

the downhill is the best, the car handles great!!!!

Thanks for the response guys

Do any of you have upgraded tire and wheel or any performance mods that you felt slightly helped?

Thanks

when i had my xb it would drive the mountain road good. i had an auto and kept the over drive off and then would switch back and forth from D to 2 when needed. If it is snowing, the rear door helps block snow from falling on you. If you are driving in snowy conditions you better put your stocks on.
