yea police agencies are switching to dodge chargers. Ford crown victoria are getting discountinued bc pretty much only law enforcement agencies are purchasing these vehicles, and at a lower price then whats on market. id say within the next 5 years youll be seeing alot more chargers out of the street, 6 cyclinder.
also ive seen dodge magnums for K-9 units, expect seeing more of those also

the chargers are slowly being put out on patrol bc this is a new vehicle.....its still going through its testing, trial and error phases, they are seeing what car can hold up too... most officers ive seen driving were mostly ranked senior officers

i remember a story back then, where one police officer i spoke to.. (reaaaallly old guy)
was given a 5.0 mustang as patrol car (about the time they first came out (yah... he was old))... and it was the only one that the dept. had...

few weeks later.... massive speed chase.... he was the only one that could keep up... others got left in the dust..

yeah.... PD's all around know what's up... definitely a big upgrade.

however, do know that a few depts do have tuned out vehicles they race. some of them bring it out to drag racing events and such to basically promote safe racing...

keep it on the track... per say.

the fords are poor designs look at the 67 mustangs you get the same results cause ford put the gas tank inside the trunk and soon as it gets rear ended you burn alive inside the car

HAHAHA--this is not the first time law enforcement has resorted to the Charger. My brother drove one for the CHP in the late 60's. No more Cameros or GTO's getting away!

it dosnt happen at 10 mph, but in a pretty good crash yes they do explode. the fuel is held in a kind of rubber sack and when they get hit, the metal on the gas tank punches the rubber and BOOM!
