Default Exhaust ticket 27151(a), what to do?

Hello,

First off, I tried reading some threads related to exhaust tickets but can't figure out what steps i need to do from this point to get the ticket resolved.

I was cited for 27151(a) and the officer did not check yes or no in the boxes for correctable violation.

Do I wait for the court to send me something in the mail before changing my exhaust back to stock or something quieter (i also have a magnaflow axle back that is pretty quiet)?

After going to local sherrif station to try and get it signed off, would I need to go to the courthouse for any reason? I am a bit confused on steps to take.

Sorry for all the n00b questions.

You should wait until you get a courtesy notice in the mail. It will tell you if it's a correctable citation which it should be. Then you put a quieter exhaust on and go to the police station or CHP and have them sign it off. Then take it to the courthouse and pay the like $10 fee. Plus when you get your courtesy notice it will tell you exactly what you need to do. Good luck.

dude just take it off since it's something simple and go get it checked off, then go put it back on since it'sone 2 bolts and the hangers which aren't hard to take off and put back on.

or find out where your local referee station is, have them do the decibel check and get the paperwork so that you don't have to do any work and if you get pulled over again, you can show the officer your paperwork and he really can't give u a ticket at that point

actually i did try that at first but the CHP didnt sign it off for me. they said that i actually had to take off the exhaust. but maybe they were just being jerks about it. but either way i would recommend BuddhasTC's idea just so that you would have the paperwork for when you get pulled over again. thats if you decide to put it the exhaust back on.

I know how to take off the exhaust. However my stock exhaust was cut off, so i'd have to get it welded if I need to put that one back on.

My magnaflow axle back however I can just bolt on & put on a silencer to make it extra quiet, however would this pass inspection by a referree center?

watch your account get deleted for having too many lines in your sig., that is why there is a profile to put all of your mods in it.

So i recieved the ticket by mail, and it doesn't state whether or not the citation is a fix-it or not. Would i need to pay the bail, provide proof thats its under 95dB, and also mail in a letter for trial by declaration?? (from what i read from online research its wise to do this)
