Default Front Plate Fix-it Ticket Question

I got a ticket for not having a front license plate and I was wondering if I can just like ziptie it to the lower grill to go show them. I have plugs in the holes in the bumper, and I don't think they'll come out without screwing up the paint on the bumper. I doubt you can just put it on the dash, I don't think theyd like that.

I'm almost certain it would work. If they gave you trouble about it, you could just say you don't want to drill holes in the bumper on such a sexy car.

zipties would work, but a more secure fix would use some nuts, bolts, and washers.

starting from the inside of the car

bolt end (the part you ratchet) - washer - grille - washer - nut tighten that down

then put on another nut spaced out so the liscense plate doesnt rest on the car.

then the liscense plate

then one more nut to hold the liscense plate on.

i hope that made sense

hmm.. that's WHY zipties isn't probably gonna work... of course they know you're gonna take it right off... zipties is just a better excuse for them to believe so.

the bracket idea should work though. they at least know you made a much better effort... which leads to being more believeable.

Bolts, nuts, washers, washer pads <$5 at home depot. I've made one before but I don't use it anymore.. Funny thing is that I got pulled for no plate 2 nights ago. Got let go with no ticket though because I told him I took it off for a show the week prior. All he said was "okay, just make sure you get it on soon." Haha.

But if you do decide to make your own bracket, make sure you use loc-tite cuz the bolts tend to loosen themselves..

I actually got a ticket for no front license plate and loud music. The license plate $10 and the loud music $200. Freakin' cops!. I used double sided tape and it holds really good even on the freeways.
But screws and nuts are more reliable...

Not loud at all. The stereo was at 7 and you could barely feel the kick from the subs. The cops had nothing else to do.

law states plate must be bolted on--zip ties do not comply.

It also pays to be related to officers of the law when it comes to fix-it tickets! (both my parents are officers and i usually just tell the copper it'll be a waste of his time and effort to write a fix-it, he asks why? and i tell him it will be signed off before he even makes it back to the precinct) well almost any tickets for that matter, in moderation of course. if you get a speeding ticket for going 95 in a 65 it really doesnt matter who you know
