Default HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE ON YOUR TC?

So my car had been leaking drips for a week , didn't get a chance to take it in till today. dealer say's the following "the vehicle seems to had been downshifted to hard that broke a gear that puntured a hole in the transmision" recomendations are " to change the transmition and clutch"

OK.... if you know me and seen my car... im not a racer first of all, second i've been driving since i was 14yr. so why in the hell would i downshift from 5th to 2nd?

they said that since it seems to be my mistake the warranty dont cover it.... now we are talking 4 figures...$$$$$.

has anyone had or heard of this problem before? i really think since times are tough the dealer is trying to get some $$$....

im like ____ i just buy a new car then...

i hope i can find an answer soon cuz i need my ride for T4T show soon! lol!

aight yo... post ur ideas and comments.

Questions:

1. Just to make sure, are you leaking transmission oil or motor oil?

2. Have you gone under your car and checked the source of the leak yourself? The reason for this is for you not to blindly go to a dealer/s and accept offhand what they have to say without seeing it for yourself.

3. So based on your profile, you didn't add/install any F/I & transmission mods right? Did you go to the dealership for your shceduled maintenance, or DIY?

Based on what you said, I really see no reason that you are at fault for the damage. For all we know it could be a mechanical defect on the car's part and they just don't want to fix it at their expense due to warranty. Take your car to a couple more dealerships and see what they say and look for consistency on their diagnosis.

Good luck on your car, man. Hope you get it fixed (and covered by warranty).

did it blow a hole in your transmission or is it just leaking? and where exactly is it leaking from?

so there's a cover on the transmision left side and i saw a tiny metal stick poking out of it where the oil was dripping from...

this is my thing if the gear would've broken like they said it did then would'nt it had to do some sort of noice 2 weeks ago?

im not a genius but i think the car would've been stuck not being able to move it....

i already called customer service at corp and now the car is at culver city scion where they will check it and get back at me on monday... till then my 2 blu devil is resting!
