I fail to see the issue.
Thing is, the permit isn't a placard or a sticker like school campuses use. It's a friggin yellow rectangular cardboard(seriously, cheap a-holes) with the condo name on it. I can't hang it on my rearview mirror, if I could, believe me, I would. So I always have to put it on top of my dash every time I park and take it off each time I drive off. I still haven't been able to contact the manager and i'm still looking for a letter we got a while ago, which we're almost positive stated that anyone who parks in the condo parking lot during the day, does not need the permit. So i'm hoping i can find it and see if i can get a resolve to all of this.
Worst permit design ever.

What about mounting it on your sun visor. Then when you park just flip it down and you are set. I think it's so goofy that the owner didn't realize who drives what especially since you've lived there for awhile. I'm thinking he gets a kickback from the fees.

Update: So i looked at the terms of the parking rules and decided I didn't have a legitimate case. The only thing I can remotely fight about is that on the terms, it says a visitor can park without a permit during the day. According to the towing company I was towed at 7:35pm which cannot be true because I looked at my phone records and my sister called me at 7:34pm and my care was not there anymore. If it were true, she would've caught the truck in process of towing my vehicle. Anyways, who knows what they consider still "day" time so I decided to just bite the bullet.

So, today I give my sister a ride back from the Audi dealership since she needed warranty work done to her car, when we come back, my sister spotted a long scratch(about 6 inches) on my right rear passenger side right above the tire. Of course I was a little annoyed but what can ya do, scratches happen i suppose.

Later in the morning when I go out to go to school I see something scratched into my car on the back where the emblem is at. It was a not so nice word etched into my car (totally visible), at this point I realize that long scratch was NOT an accident. I'm thinking someone did this because of my little note that I put on my parking permit. I can't see anyone doing this other than someone within the homeowners association or someone that lives here that works with them. I don't talk to my neighbors but never really ever had problems with any of them.

Then I think when this could've happened and how, well throughout the weekend I had my car parked with the backside in and the front side poking out. I can see my car's left side profile from where I live but the scratches and what was etched were on the cars right side, so even if I looked out to my car I wouldn't have been able to see them and would've been hidden behind my car. This had to have happened at the end of the weekend or today in the morning. There aren't many kids that live here and couldn't see why a kid would that in the first place so i'm thinking it was an "adult" somehow tied with the homeowners assoc. The note I wrote was solely towards whomever is trying to tow my car or looking for permits. I won't take back what I wrote and vandalizing someone's car is taking it too far. So, now i'm really calling the manager and telling her about all of this. I probably won't get anywhere with it but st least i'll let it be known. Now i've gotta go get get some touch-up to see if I can somehow cover the word and scratch up. I am so frustrated about all of this. Thanks for letting me vent.

Ya, this is really bugging me. Today i'm going to contact my insurance and see how much it'll be, if it's too much, i'm calling my buddy that i work with (work at a detail dealership) that has a whole lot more experience than I do and get his opinion on what I should do and how to do it. Then, since I finally got a hold of the phone number, calling the homeowners assoc. and telling them that vandalism took place in our very own parking lot and the person who did it probably lives here as well. Keep in mind, where I live, the community is super small...only 15 condos, lined up in an L shape. I want to really stress how small this place is. Believe me it makes me soooo mad knowing the person who did it, lives only yards away from me or possibly next door to me. I'm also thinking of callng the police and filing a report, not because i'm hoping they'll catch the person but to make a scene and make it known to whomever that did it, that the authorities were called. I'm not sure what else to do but to take pictures of the vandalism and making sure I don't do anything to the keyed part of my car until I talk to the insurance company, whoever is in charge of the homeowners assoc. and possibly the authorities. Till then, I guess will place a sticker over the spot. AHHHH. I'm so mad.

Hate to burst your bubble but at this point you are going on only speculation. For all you know it could have been someone visiting or someone off the street that did that. Vandalism and theft happens all the time, doesn't mean it's someone that lives in that complex. Good luck getting it fixed.

Yeah, unless you have a witness you are SOL. Sorry for your loss and the fact that you can't keep a nice car living in apartments.

Ok, so...I talked to my insurance and my deductible is $500, that's outta the question. I called the homeowners association and from the second she picked up the phone and said hello, I knew she was gonna be a _____. Basically, she didn't want to do anything, she kept asking me, what was my question. Do i have to ask a damn question if I call?! I mentioned the whole point of a homeowners assoc. is to protect the homeowners and community. All she said was that she was gonna inform the rest of the homeowners which I know she isn't going to do, she didn't even take my name or any information. Sorry excuse for an assoc. All i can do now is see if can try and fix it myself with the help of my buddy that i work with. For now, I have a sticker over the defamatory word and i'm somewhat content with that right now. But frankly, I no longer feel safe within this community. Actually, I feel safer parking it out on the street than in the parking lot now...

Ya man, every time I pass by someone that lives here, I get uncomfortable and almost wanna stare each one of them down and beat them to a bloody pulp. More paranoid than anything to be honest. Everyone I talk to about this, say it had to be a girl. As I think about it..it could've been these girl(s) that live like 2 condos down. All I did was ignore them when my friend sort of egged them on as if he was interested in them, they told us to come by when we come back, it was me and 2 other buddies. When we got back, they were outside their house and since I didn't show any interest in them to begin with, I kept walking to my place while my buddies did too and just ignored their "hey!". I didn't do anything wrong nor did any of us. But the odd thing is, if it was was them, then they did it about 1-2 weeks AFTER this "incident" happened. But I will probably never know unless someone who saw it happen or did it has the ***** to tell me or make a remark about it. I watch over my car when it's parked here now...It's not very fun...
