Join Scion Racing - Saturday, June 27 - Buttonwillow Raceway

Join drivers Scott Webb and Dan Gardner and the entire Jackson-Dawson Scion Racing Team for round 3 of the Western Endurance Racing Championship at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. This race is the only remaining endurance racing event in Southern California for the team this season and a great opportunity to get an up-close look at road racing, as Buttonwillow provides great access for racing fans for only $10 per person.
Although the race is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm, there will be a full schedule of qualifying sessions and sprint races throughout the day. Evening temperatures in late June should be quite comfortable as the race finishes under the cover of darkness.
Buttonwillow Raceway Park is located approximately 2 hours north of Los Angeles, just off the 5 freeway. See the link below for a map and directions, or simply plug the address into your navigation system.

We had an up and down weekend, and worked really hard in the extreme heat (100+) for the results. After ending up in the ER in Bakersfield for stiches on Friday after the hatch came down on his head, Dan managed a 2nd place in the PTC class sprint race on Saturday afternoon, fighting with the RDR Mazda RX-8 the whole way.
In the enduro we got the jump at the start, settled into 2nd for a while and then received a 10-minute penalty for a pace car infraction during a full-course yellow. So Dan had to sit in pit lane for all that time, and we lost about 5 laps as a result. But we clawed our way back up into 3rd in class by the end, only a couple of laps down from the winner - i.e. we woulda/shoulda won by a lot without the penalty. And we set the fastest race lap for our class.
On Sunday Dan took the PTC sprint race win against that same RX-8.
There was lots of contact on Saturday, and the car looks a bit worse for wear right now! The new Pilot Automotive HID lights worked well though.

I was there that Sat and all I have to say Dan and Webb kicked azz, like he said if it was not for the 10 min. penalty they would have won that endurance race easy, but they fought back and ended up in 3rd, great job guys
. BTW...it was very nice to meet you Webb, you're a great driver, see you guys next time. So I guess now I know why Dan had that stuff on his head lol...plus the rear bumper ended up getting torn off early in the race too.
