Hey , can anyone in Vegas tell me where I can find one of the smog self service test boxes in Vegas? Hubby and I will be there this weekend for a photo shoot and hubby was given a mission to find one of these boxes. The state of california is debating on offering this service. LOL


And can anyone tell me of any meets this weekend.

dont know about self smog but theres places like smog busters or w/e that doesnt sniff ur exhaust and just puts a chip and as long as theres no cel check u pass. if that helps.. theres one on rainbow and flamingo ish.. next to bank of america.

 

they are suppose to be like little shacks you drive up to and hook up your car to an OBD2 sensor and it does the smog check only by reading codes in car's comp. I will have to check that place when we go. Thanks for the info

 

yea its a lil shack. theres alot of little shacks around vegas that only hooks up to ur OBD2 sensor. just go around look for lil shacks names like SMOG BUSTER etc. but the one i went to was on rainbow n before flamingo.

i believe almost all smog places in vegas just plug into the car as long as it's newer. just do a local search on yahoo for smog with the address you're staying at and it should bring up tons of places.

 

Smog Busters is the biggest in Vegas and they do have those little shacks, but are not self serve. There will still be an attendant to do the actual smog.

 

yup, none of them are self serve though, the poor slob who gets to stand out in the sun checks your vin to your paperwork

 

So I am back and we did find the little shack. I will post pics later . It is called the Smog depot From what the guy in the Smoke shack next to it explained, It is a drive up like ATM machine. No attendant , you do it yourself. Guy comes @ 7am mon - fri and unlocks the metal plate and comes every evening empties it and closes it. Can't believe this is what Cali wants to go to.
