i just moved from CT to Santa Monica, about 25 min north of torrance. they say that traffic is bad, reality is that it's not that awful. on the east coast traffic means you're sitting on I95 going 5mph. so far in LA i've only seen the kind of traffic where there are a lot of cars but everyone is still moving at a decent pace (30 mph). And if you have a nav system, urban rally is the way to go...
i haven't noticed a difference in people's personalities since i've been here. seems to me that there are normal and crazy people pretty much everywhere.
i'll give LA this though: the weather can't be beat...

SoCal is a fantastic place to live, the weather rocks. You can go from sandy beaches to snow covered half pipes literally with 1-2 hours as well as hit the dessert for some off-roading fun. You will not regret it.

One word of advive if moving to SoCal: "Tines que aprender un poco de español." (You should lear a little spanish). It'll help greatly.

Default moving to cali

What's up man. I just moved to Torrance in January with TMS. I've stayed in the dorms before. They're nothing special...all the interns for all the local major corporations stay there, including Honda and Toyota. You'll have some fun though. Toyota will show you a really good time; they take care of you.

If you have questions about Toyota or life in Cali/Torrance, PM me.

Not to mention...a 5-7 minute drive to Redondo Beach and you can take pics of your car like this almost daily. hahaha

I really miss Cali. People always say that the chics are stuck up, but in all truth that everywhere where the girls are "hot". But not all Cali chics are like that. Most Miami chics are another story. If you can catch a ride Endless Rev is in June, (right??), in San Diego. San Diego is kind of like a chilled out LA, not a big "urban" scene, but still nice.

I thinkk you'll love it.

California is awesome! I am a California native and I was born in Torrance and have lived here most of my life (we moved away for a while when I was little, but came back). People in Torrance are really friendly, for the most part, and Torrance is just an awesome place to live. If Toyota is providing you housing in CSUDH dorms, that's technically Carson...but eh, it's close enough.

I'm moving out to Fullerton to be closer to school in June, but I'll probably be home a lot since I'm pretty sure my job isn't going to transfer me until the last minute. I would be happy to show you around. I work in San Pedro and have friends and family that live in all of the cities actually surrounding Torrance, so I know the area really well....and I love making new friends!!!!
