Default Local pickup of Tien SS-P's...

Topic pretty much says it all, if anyone knows of a place with reasonable pricing anywhere in Socal (pref near the SF Valley) I'd appreciate it ;]

(From what I can tell on racingsolution's site they only have the Tein SS's w/o the pillowball, correct me if I'm wrong on this)

Where have you tried checking so far?

There's a list of authorized dealers on Tein's website. When I was looking for a local dealer that had s-techs, that's what I ended up using.

You can also try H&R coilovers. IMO better fir daily driving because the Tein spring rates are a little high.

im a fan of all above but......

tein SS-P's can use a on the fly damper control (the EDFC) that rocks! ive been hunting for this set up at a reasonable price- go from race to street settings without getting out of the seat while driving

just a opinion,
but the guy asked a specific question, not wich is better or what any one uses!
come on people!
i have the same problems with most questions ive had with other parts!

this site is about communicating ideas not forcing them

you can also try island motorsports - they are a direct vendor for Tein and can also install them. It's in the OC though, so it is a bit of a drive for you.

I ordered a set of SS+P's with EDFC the day I bought my car and two days later, they were installed at a very decent price.

Anyway, tell em Nick set ya

I already have a thread about which to get going on in the suspension forums Though, what you say is true to a point, the imput is good, when it's truely input, not "OMG WHY WOULD YOU GET THAT CRAP?".

That said, I'm so torn on what suspension to get for my daily driver, I want about a 1.5-2.0" drop all around while not completely killing the ride and performs well in your everyday cornering/driving (I have no intentions of ever taking this car to the track).

Thanks for all the info though guys :o

with that said, you dont want Tein coilovers bc altought youll see a difference in cornering, your ride comfort is gonna be out the door. there are many other coilovers that will be in your best interest for a daily driver to due its ride comfortability

house of scion moved to from city of industry (626) to some place in the inland empire/san bernardino county.

how much are you looking to spend for SSPs? i got mine over a year ago for $1100 (not installed), and that was the best price i could find at the time.

I'm willing to pay to get what I'm looking for. How do you like the SS-Ps overall? And how is the ride? (BTW, I really love your car, one of the ones I saw here when I first got mine that I really loved)

funny you brought this up because i've been noticing this on SL lately. it makes me wonder how some of these people carry on conversations in real life.

- "Where in SoCal can I get some TEIN coilovers?"
- "Tanabe is awesome!!"

getting back on topic: from what i've seen, website-wise, c2auto.com seems to have some of the best pricing on products. i was in the market for Tein basics and i never saw a lower listed price than the one on their site. you should try giving them a call

I think I may have mentioned this in another of your threads, but I recommend H&R if ride comfort and street performance is a concern. I'll even offer you a test ride if you want this friday at the Team ScionTific meet.

If you still want the TEINs locally, I think Next Level Motoring ( http://www.nlmotoring.com ) has them nearby you, however I've never done business with them.

right on man im glad some people understand, but its in every posting related to parts in general, exhaust, oil filters/adapters, intakes, etc.......
it dosent really help anyone and makes some people out to be an a$$, opinions are great but please

help answer a question or keep opinions to ones self or expalain why the product rocks for you at least please!

i do lots of research and ask alot of questions to get the best product that suits me i recomend doing the same

help is in answers not opinions!

no complaints at all. I never track my car (nor do i ever plan to), but I keep them stiff so I dont bottom-out on dips and to minimize tire rubbing.

i love how the SSP is fully assembled, which made install super easy.
you can also have Tein rebuild (i think its $70 per damper). all shocks will eventually blow. they're local too.

i used to have H&R coilovers on my old VW GTI. great coilover, but theyre all the same if you going to use it for daily driving. thats why Tein, Tanabe, and H&R make different versions for street or track use.

First off, thanks alot for all the info in this thread, its very helpful.

Good point about the Tein rebuild, does anyone know if H&R offers a similar service?

@2fast, between this thread and my other (I'm semi cross posting now ) I think I may be leaning in favor of the H&Rs because it seems they be great for everything I need and they also cost quite a bit less than the Tein's (unless basics are in the running, this I dont know.) That said, is there somewhere locally that I could pickup H&R or do those need to be ordered? If so, if you could recommend me a place (I was looking at allsprings.com) that would be much appreciated.

Also, where do you guys meet on fridays? Maybe I'll swing by and check it out?

Thanks again to everyone for all the info.
