On December 6, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) - San Diego will play host to one of the hottest military sponsored car shows and "Toys for Tots" benefits on the west coast. The 5th annual MCRD Car and Motorcycle Show is a a benefit for the Marine Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation. This event is free and open to the public. The toy drive is part of the Marine Corps effort to bring joy into the life of children of all ages during the holiday season.
This car show is known as one of the premier "military sponsored car shows" on the west coast. Showcasing custom rides such as: Dragon Fire, Hammersmith, San Diego Lowriders, Ferrari, DUB, and many more. Come for an hour, stay for the day. Meet the minds behind the radical designs inspiring southern California’s coolest custom built hot rods, muscle cars, lowriders, classics ,tricked out trucks and awe inspiring motorcycles.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Use MCRD San Diego Gate #5 off of Washington Street. Take I-5 north or south to the Washington St. exit. Head west to Gate #5.
MARINE RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION
The Marine Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation is one of the nation's flagship charitable endeavors and an American tradition. For 60 years, The Marine Toys for Tots message of hope for the future has motivated youngsters to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation not only benefits children, but also has a positive impact on communities, on businesses - large and small, on the Marine Corps and the nation. Last year, 7.5 million children received toys because of the generosity of people across the country who donated a toy or made a contribution. This year the Marines are up to the challenge to bring in even more toys.
ENTRY FEE
The entry fee for display vehicles is a modest $10.00. Every car and motorcycle entered brings with it a message of hope and happiness, in the donation of a new and unwrapped toy.
ROLL IN
Display setup is from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Display your hot rod, lowrider, custom classic, or tricked out motorcycle by sending in the PDF entry form or by contacting Jose. Admission for display cars is $10.00 + a new unwrapped toy. All proceeds benefit "Toys for Tots" and the Marine Corps. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks.
