no that's not normal. are you figuring it out right? I get 24-26mpg in the LA area when i'm stuck in traffic all day both ways to work. The only way i see this happening is if you constantly smash on the gas and race every where. If that's not the case, i would get the car checked out by the dealer

i was told my xA can get 31 in the city and 38 on the freeways, so far i'm only getting 28-29 regardless if i drive in city or freeway. i checked with a mechanic friend and he said what is advertise is the mpg in a controlled environment. read the little fine print, it is spelled our but unfortunately nobody ever reads it. Whatever mpg is advertised, take anywhere from 2-5 mpg off that number and that's the real mpg.

I noticed my MPG has been dropping. In the beginning of the year i would average 32.5 mpg. Then it's slowly dropping to 27-28 mpg. I just filled up yesterday and i averaged 28 mpg. I have 70k miles on my box now.

313 is amazing, especially for a tC. I cant even make it to 300 with my xB.

Total miles can be misleading. . . as we all fill up at different intervals. . . and then there is also the variation in fuel quality that should be taken into account.

PLUS: an xB has a MUCH MUCH smaller tank than a tC. When it comes down to the meat of it, the xB will get better MPG, but because the tank is smaller it will limit your range and increase the frequency of fill up.

I'm surprised that so many people quote their total miles per tank. . . it's not a very useful number. I mean, if you bother to keep track of how many miles you travel per tank, why not calculate mpg? Just divide that mileage by however gallons it takes to fill up (it will show on the pump or the receipt). It's a MUCH better and more reliable way to keep track of your fuel economy.

Oh yeah, your right. I forgot we are going cross borders.

I only get about 25-28 mpg with mostly freeway driving and I avoid traffic as much as I can.

I average about 24-26 mpg. I have a Heavy foot though. I track it every tank since i got my xB. I have never seen 30mpg. But of course i've never babied it to try and get better mileage.

it will also depend on if you have a manual or auto and what kind of driving goes along with those. a lot of people with autos step on gas to get it going while with an manual people tend to feather it and be a little easier unless they think they are a speed racing over rev. just need to look at the driving style and adjust accordingly
