Default need to get engine mount repaired at dealership. recommendations?

Hey guys,

A repair shop recently discovered a crack in the engine mount on my 05 xB. I'm pretty sure I should still be under warranty (not quite 56k miles). So I'm planning on taking it into a dealership to get the repair done one of these days. I just don't want to get a sketchy dealership that will make me pay for checking it out or something and then not repair it, etc.

My only real experience with Toyota service depts has been Van Nuys and Glendale, where I got my car. Service dept at Van Nuys was fine, but the Glendale Toyota service dept was not so great. Of course, that was several years ago, so it could be different now, who knows.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good Toyota service dept??

Thanks a lot!

I honestly have no idea. One of the mechanics shone a light through a little hole to show me where the crack was. But I didn't even know what an engine mount was until that day.

id normally recommend Longo but their work has really gotten sloppy over the years. ive had some problems with them and they've repaired several parts on my old corolla, my tC and my dad's minivan. still a good place to buy cars from though! ive heard good things about Hamer.

if metal then it's the mount itself and not the bushing.

Alright, so after much procrastinating, I finally made an appointment at Longo this weekend. I was told that there would be an inspection fee of over $100... but then I spoke to a service advisor, and he said if the repair fell under warranty, the inspection fee would be waived. I asked what factors would be considered when determining if it was under warranty or not, and he said it wouldn't be under warranty if it's been worked on or if the car's been in an accident. None of those is the case with me... it's never been modified or been in an accident. So from the sound of it, I should be still covered by warranty.

However, the repair shop that first diagnosed the crack told me a couple horror stories of how some customers had gone to dealerships and had had their cars inspected only to get charged the diagnostic fee and not have their cars repaired, and that I should be careful which dealership I go to.

Anyone have any experience with this??
