I'd love a VW Rabbit I'm just not sure how much maintaince would cost on it down the road. I've found a nice red 4 door Rabbit S for sale locally, so.. we'll see.

This accident left me only sore compared to the last one, but unfortunately my car gave it's life to me. I'm very tempted on writing a letter to Scion Corp. thanking them for including side airbags in a $16k car. My sister's Honda Fit offered it as an add-on to the car so it wasn't standard when they first came out! Anyone know how to contact Scion Corp. directly? PM me.

In the long run, VW's are gonna rack up in maintenance costs... initially, they're fine, but not in the long run... they are cool cars, don't get me wrong, but I just seen too many VW's with issues after their warranties expire.

Glad to hear that you're okay, but you should really keep in touch more often, just text me once in a while...

Scion's address is...
19001 S. Western Ave
D102 PO BOX 2742
Torrance, CA 90509-2742

... or go to their site and fill out their contact form...

Mazda 3's are slow and their new "big grin" grille is eerie... the Mazdaspeed3 is out of the price range... stick with the xD... have you checked out the Matrix?

I really don't know what I want

I've heard that about the VW's in the past, not sure if it's like that now. Not a fan of the Toyota packages they offer on their cars. I would get a old body style of the Mazda3, not the new ones. Dunno.. the ride is much smoother in cars with longer wheel bases and there are no rattles in non-Scion cars. I'm so torn.

Ouch! Glad you're okay!

The "old" Mazda3 hatch? I would say the new VW GTI, but it's pricey. Don't think you could wait for the Mazda2. Another xD? New Fit Sport?

Yea thankfully I'm ok

I'd love the previous body style of the Mazda3 hatch, those are hard to find and pricey GTI.. mm I can get a used one (2006-2007) cheap but need to find out how much my insurance will go from this. I really like the idea of a Rabbit truthfully.

We'll see and I'll let you guys know what happens

Hey Eamon, it's all good... kinda keepin' it on the down low (in more ways than one...) since I had to take off the RS1 lip... apparently, lips don't play well with driveways when you only have three inches of ground clearance... and besides, I got burned out on the meets with all the drama lately...

Chels, if you keep sayin' words like "new car" and "test drive" you'll get my attention every time (ask my wife, she knows what i'm talkin' about)... and the newer VW's are not that much better than the old ones when it comes to long term quality... stick with anything Japanese... the Mazda5 is actually a good candidate (I've driven one, they're actually pretty cool)

and sorry Pengu56, but I've test driven the Fit, and they're okay if you don't mind gettin' passed up by minivans...

Whaaaat? Eh, well, I'm going to go look at the used Rabbit I found, the new Golf and then test drive a new xD. Depending on which one I like more is the one I'll get. Not too fond of Toyota right now from all the issues they're having. Plus, VW has a lot more hp+torque

So far from what I've read with the recent Toyota recalls is that if your car feels safe and sound, you don't need to take it in.
If on the other hand, your gas pedal feels rough or unnatural, then you should take it in.

So it seems like it's not a mandatory recall by any means.
