Today I saw a car's license plate with a stack of yearly registration stickers about a 1/4" thick, which sparked my curiousty to ask people on SL.

So what do you do when you get your new registration sticker? Do you take the time to remove the old one, or do you just slap it on top of the old one?

I take the time to remove the old one using a heat gun so I can put the new one on, it looks fresh as if it was newly licensed.

 

Reg. stickers on plates isn't done in the state of TX. But in states that do this I always thought that the expired one is to be removed and replaced with the new one.

 

it's completely up to you! people tend to remove old one and slap new one on and put a few razor line through it so no one can try to steal the reg sticker! it happens who knows...

 

i just put mine over the old ones

 

I let a couple pile on before I remove them completely for a new sticker.

 

I would say who cares and why does it bother you? LOL. I just stack it.

 

depends on my mood...but i usually stack a few (3-4?) before removing the whole thing and starting fresh

razor blade it like a pizza all the time though

being in cali, I take (as much as I can off) and put on a new one. Then cut it up.

 

I use to do that, until someone stole my sticker. I got pulled over and showed my registration which was up to date, then had to go through the hassle of getting a replacement sticker.

 

You dont have top cut them anymore once you stick it to something there is actually a second layer that comes off of it that says "VOID" all over it.

 

If the sticker's flexible (no other tags beneath) it's designed to rip, to deter theft. If It's easier to steal if you have a nice stack.
