Now.. if I see the person signaling to make a lane change, then I let them in. If they don't, I ignore their attempt to cut me off or cut someone else off. There is no excuse for driving like a maniac and not being able to signal when the damned turn signal pod is no more than 2 inches away from your left hand!

Also, this thread wasn't meant to be a _____fest about people's driving habits, it was a thread meant to see if anyone had any ideas how on to bring it to the enforcers to see if they could do anything or make a volunteer unit. Sorry if I didn't explicitly say that in the first post.

Also, maximthegreat, you have no business in this forum let alone this thread since you don't live in the area. You're just trying to be a pain in the ___ or an irritating person. I wonder if you drive like an ___ on the freeways/highways by you.

[edit] I actually have thought about joining the force, however I'd like to get a bachelors in Graphic Design first. Though now I don't know if I want to go in that field since its hard to get a job and its hard to keep it. Plus, with being a cop or CHP officer... I might be one of a few that would be trying to get the bad drivers. Hardly see any on the road as it is in my area. There just need to be more.

ChelsDS been driving in socal for time, I know your not the one _____ing about cops but bad drivers. Living in socal thats 70% of the drivers on the road that me and you and every legal person who works in Cali. One way to fix the issue is to raise taxes and higher more cops. Is this doable..yes..going to happen..not as of now. Another would be a higher punishment for those who do not obey the laws within the state. Is this going to happen? Maybe, people need a mass reason to do this. By this I mean we need a 9/11 event to happen on the road but not with hoggies but drivers. Then the media and law obeying citizens need to come together to fix it.

What you can do now? Sit down and don't waste to much time thinking and worrying about it. More you worry the more angry you will become and then you are one of them and trying to take the law into your own hands. I was once like you but now I drive how I drive worry about me and watch out for others to assure that my safety is top priority...

This issue hasn't consumed me I figure there would need to be more cops + CHP officers out there to catch these guys, but it seems like most people (like myself) want a different job that isn't potentially deadly. But as with anything these days, you basically have to start the ball rolling to try and change what you think shouldn't be happening. It's like voting... you think your vote might not count but you never know until the votes are counted.

The reason why I got the idea for a volunteer unit is because there is a volunteer unit in L.A. of a group of neighbors who watch hot spots at night for taggers. They capture the taggers on camera, call a cop waiting around in the area, and the cop nabs the guy. I've read and seen this on the news sometime this year. However, I don't mean you chase the person down, but instead you get their plate number and evidence of their actions (dash mounted camera?), call whichever department you'd have to call, give them the info along with the evidence (maybe) and hopefully they'd be the ones doing the actual work. Not us citizens who might not be prepared for what the reckless driver might have with them in the car.
