Default Scion United Update!

O.K. folks here’s the short, simple, and concise update as to what exactly is going on in regards to the happenings around the Scion United event:

Some of the valets contracted by Beyond Marketing Group were less than careful with the cars and in some reported cases, downright malicious. Some people had items stolen from inside of their car, ranging from loose change to personal items, as well as spilt drinks inside and electronics toyed with. Exterior damage ranged from scratches, dust from open windows and dirt driving, to the extreme of having the car un-drivable due to mechanical issues. It’s basically all the crap that would ____ off any enthusiast whether their car was stock or not.

Many of you were watching the thread that existed in the Pacific South forums, I myself and many of the other Mods had the chance to read it as well. The post stood overnight until the next morning when one of us pushed the wrong button, and the entire thread ended up vanishing. We’re working to get the post resurrected. Being all owners ourselves, there was no intentional deletion of the thread, heck some of us were there at the event too and witnessed our own cars being treated less than we would have liked. Troy and Darren as well as the rest of us are all doing to best we can to get that post back from the database, patience please, we are working on it.

Another issue that has arisen is the issue of the room charges, as of right now we don’t know if this was specific to one hotel or group, but do go and check the credit card you used to check into the hotel. Beyond Marketing is addressing that issue at this time as well.

What we do know is that Beyond has started calling the parties that filed claims on damage done to their vehicles, please be patient as they have to call at least a few people and get as much information as possible.

We’ve made attempts to contact Beyond Marketing or at least someone they’re affiliated with to give us some form of statement as to what’s being resolved and to perhaps clear up all of the rumors that have been intertwined with the facts. We’re still awaiting reply.

Basically, let’s all keep our heads about us and focus on getting things resolved. We’re not here to discount anyone’s experience or to cover up anything, because frankly that’s not possible. Bad things did happen and we’re here to help in as much as our limited capacity allows us to. If anything I’d like to think of these forums as our own unique support group in times like these.

I got a call from Melissa from beyond Marketing today about my claim. Basically what I have to do first, is to get an estimate on the damage and from there fax the estimate to her and things should get resolved. Didn't ask too many questions but it looks like they're taking responsibility and making things right. I only had a few rock chips on the front bumper, nothing too major but something that definitely happened over there after I dropped off my car. Shouldn't be too hard to get that fixed. For everyone else that had much more major damage done to their cars, hold tight, you either already got a call or you should in the next day or so. Hopefully everyone gets their cars fixed right.

Great info for sure .

I got my call From Melissa as well and have already emailed her the estimate , said they should be calling back in 24 hours , so it sounds like there going to take care of this ASAP .

I did ask her a few questions , but she declined to answer most , just said it would be taken care of ..

My estimate with rental car for the week while repairs are being done was just under $1900.00 .

Good luck to everyone ..

Out of curiosity, did you go to Toyota for the estimate or a body shop?

Where are good places to get an estimate? Dealerships maybe? Or just auto collision/paint shops? I need to get an estimate to them too.

I think it is insane what has happened. I am glad it seems that everyone appears to be getting at least some type of response out of that company. I hope that it all works out.

So wait. You filed a claim form over a few rock chips on the front bumper? I think I got the same rock chips on my huge spirits kit and didn't even look at the claim form. I grabbed two waters and drove home with my two rocks chips and blue tapped the rest.

yeah i talked to marcus yesterday and he asked me to get an estimate on my cracked windshield.

i also went to my dealer's body shop and had an estimate drawn up... it's just under $300 for an aftermarket windshield (the oem windshield is over 8 bills!)

fortunately, i already was rolling with an aftermarket windshield, so that's the way i'll do it again

if any of you are still waiting for a call back, pm me for marcus's number if you don't already have it

I thought her name was Alica... hell I hope it was... anyways, she gave me a call tuesday. I got the pictures and estimate done on wed's. They said tuesday I should have a check. Pretty quick and painless. Let's see what happens.

Yea, lots of crap hit the fan, but if I could do it all over again, I would still go to United. Scion, you guys rock!

I was showing a non-scion friend all this stuff and he was like... "wtf? Is Scion some kind of Cult? I'm jealous!"

Correct Sir. I was going to just shrug it off because I ddin't feel like waiting but they insisted for me to file a claim.
