SoCal Drivers Fix it Ticket HID
Okay we all know that having HID is illegal no matter if its Dot approved for scion tc, xb, or xa. So how many people have been driving around in SoCal with HID on and has not got a fix it ticket yet? Am just wondering how SoCal cops react to scions having HID on at night? Thanks for reading!

Hmm... I've been thinking about getting HIDs too, and don't know of too many people who have gotten tickets either.
Might just depend on the area, some areas seems to have more a-hole cops than others.

Unfortunately, or fortunately (however you see it), many police officers do not know cars as well as we might.
A lot of cops don't know which cars have HIDs and which don't.
As long as you don't have some stupid blue or purple colored HIDs, you won't get pulled over for it.
The majority of people I know who was ticketed for HIDs were first pulled over for obvious reasons, such as a loud exhaust, exhibition of speed, or way too loud stereo.
Don't give the police a reason to pull you over and you should be safe.
Oh and it doesn't matter if it was once DOT approved or not, any car with HIDs where it didn't come from the factory is illegal. HID projector swaps from a HID equipped car is also considered illegal, but its your best chance of not getting caught.

My girlfriends parents have an Infiniti FX and they got a letter from the Infiniti dealer saying that the DOT ruled the the stock headlights AND tailights were too bright for use on the streets and were forced to bring their car in to the local dealer and get them changed(basically a recall). But I don't know about BMW's, Lexus, and MBZ. I contemplated getting HID's as well. But I think you can get away with anything under 5K as posted above. I love the 8K though.

I run 5Ks and the color is a cool white. I doubt they think its anything other than like silverstars.
I love my 5K, they have great distance and great color! Thanks MobileHID!

I'm running 6000K's in my xA, it looks like a very bright white to me.
I would agree with 07specTC; drive normally and you will be fine. The police have greater things to worry about than ticketing you for your lights, unless you also speed, have a loud speaker system, a loud exhaust, limo-tinted windows, etc.
