I have the tools, and an acceptional knowledge of automobiles. Never installed a turbo on a tC before, if thats what you are asking. But if you are comfotable with my working on your car, I'm willing to help out. I've read over a few of the DIY posts here on SL and nothing seems to out of the ordinary, esp. if its the stage 0 kit. A spec sheet might help though (torque specs etc...)

 

I'll be able to lend a hand and my expertise also .... i mean I did go to school for this kinda stuff. Just let me know a time and place and i will see what input i can add. Worse come to worse ... i'll bring the beer.

so ray, basically i still cant believe how close our cars were in our 3rd gear pull, complete neck and neck ness...good cruisin ortega too.

 

guys..especially rolo..

i have a ticking sound that becomes more noticeable at 3k and above. i know that ticking is normal with vvt-i, but this seems to be louder than usual...what do you think? might i have a bent rod or something? im kinda worrie now.. =/

bent rod? as in push rod? impossible. tc is dohc (which equals no push rods). plus, if it was a bent rod, you'd realize it way before you heard ticking. Have you looked under the hood to try and see where its coming from? Maybe the a/c, or alternator, power steering maybe? Did you change spark plugs recently? I've seen people change out there spark plugs and not tighten them properly and end up having blow by and loss of compression in a cylinder. The blow by tends to sound like a ticking noise. But I doubt thats it. Pop the hood, and have a buddy rev it up to 3500 in neutral and see if you can find the general area that the sound is coming from.


And as for tonight, I probably wont be there. Leaving for Ensenada in the AM! WOO!! But bump for a good time!

so im gonna cruize from murrieta up to fullerton tonight for the 'first sunday of the month' meet at giovannis. gonna have some pizza, play some pool and drink a beer. any of you chaps like to roll?

theres no registration that i know of for the giovannis meet, its just a meet and greet, but the owner ties off the parking lot for a bunch of the cars, im just going to have a good time and a good bite to eat wiff the good people

ill be at endless. that gunna be sweet. got the "horns" up front, all blacked and shortened down now too so they look pretty clean. i was gunna drive the ranchero dwon last week, but the camshaft tensioner bolt is comin loose we think so i couldnt, but its gets checked maro and if that it ill prob bring it down thurs. if i can afford to feed the dinosuars it needs lmao.
