From January 12th - February 15th is California's "Street Racer Month"

Now what this means is...
CHP, City Police, and Sheriff departments in California are looking for "tuned" vehicles and checking for illegal modifications! Be on your best behavior everyone so as not to get pulled over and needing to pop your hood to display your California emissions no-no's. I got this information from my best friend who is a LA county Sheriff and he showed me the actual flyer that they received from their superiors so BEWARE!!

Heaven forbid the cops in CA don't go out looking for actual criminals, that would be a waste of taxpayers dollars. Thank god in live in MN It might get cold but as long as I am not breaking traffic laws I don't get bother with that b.s.

Just be glad you don't live in VA. They can't even modify their exhaust or ride height if not using factory products. IDK if that includes TRD though. But I know I'd be too illegal, if I passed through there.

That blows big donkey *****. I was just doing 110 down the freeway to work today too... haha. Bastards. I agree with the post way above... God forbid the CHP and California police look for actual criminals instead of tuned cars... I bet if my "tuned" car was stolen they wouldn't work as hard to find the thief who stole my car like they would look for someone to write a ticket.

Ef this siht I'm going vigilante... i'll catch the criminals, then when the cops pull me over they can pop the trunk too and take the crimies to jail...

I'm glad I live in NC. Cali gov seems like a bunch of douches.

 

It's a revenue hunt. Anyhow, I moved out of cali about 2 1/2 years ago, moved to vegas. Cops don't care about tuned cars at all. Hell we have street races on public roads out here, with everyone lined up on the strees (stupid I know) but goes to show how lax they are here. My buddy calls me up every saturday night to tell me where the import street drags are and where the domestic street races are.

 

HAHA I'm from Cali (SD) but thanks to the military I'm in Florida (Miami)

 

DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!!!! At least not Miami area, It's like a mix of Carib and South America down here.

 

Before anyone get too down on California, keep in mind a vast majority of the parts shown at SEMA, or get bolted on our cars come from California... and they have to be tested before they are sold.

As long as you don't have a slanted "JDM" style exhaust without a silencer, keep the stickers down to a minimum, and don't drive like an a$$, you're going to be OK. Also keep in mind that a majority of the funding for California law enforcement comes from vehicle and traffic infractions, so it's either this or higher taxes.
