"Yes I live on such and such Ave, I'd like to report a distrubance. Some kids are riding wrecklessly down the street. Some don't even have on helmets. Is there anything you can do?"

Sound as ol' lady as possible....

The Peoples Republic of Cali's socialists are missing the boat by not taxing money transfers to Mexico! Traffic cops could all retire.

No, not necesarily towards tuners...after the 15th, they just need to get their "target goals" (formerly known as a quota). Yeah there are a lot of tuners in this area but the cops usually leave us be here. I've lived here for quite some time and have never gotten a ticket for any kind of "modifications", even with my eclipse and that was loud...4" piping from the downpipe back and the BOV was extremely loud. But from what my friend said, this is one of the many things that they're doing to cut down on illegal street racing in southern california. He said this will be something that happens every year around this time where their "target goals" are to target tuners rather than just traffic violations alone.

^^I like your sig^^

And I agree with it if the main goal is to cut down on street racing. SR is unsafe (for the most part), I've heard of too many cases in SD with people street racing and killing others that weren't involved. GET 'EM!!

^^thanx
yeah i agree too, but the officers need to be able to differentiate those who have a passion for building, and those that are idiots...i mean my car looks clean...no full on body kits, no huge spoilers, no N20, no huge power upgrades...just simple and clean...and i'm 27! Most people my age don't street race anymore! Oh well i guess!

But then they're accused of profiling, pulling over some that "look like racers and leaving the ones that didn't alone. It's to close of a matter of an opinion. Know what I'm sayin'. I mean I'm a female, many females do you know that street race. Granted they're out there but they're highly outnumbered by males. I mean shoot, guys are still shocked when they fnd out that I drive a stick shift or that I like changing my own oil if possible.

But I can see what you're saying at the same time.

Personally I think you're an idiot for being a hypocrite.
i'm sure the people/person involved in the accident you could have caused as a result of you doing 110mph would understand that it was okay for you to be going that fast because you'dd get in trouble for being late to work....you might want to leave a little earlier next time.

I live in Souther Orange County. The closest drag strips are california speedway and irwindale speedway. Thats about an hour and a half on a good day. This is one of the big issues with the street race issue. We need more dragstrips around. There used to be dragstrips all over the county back in the 60s and 70s why cant we get any back. I know the land is very valuable but theres A TON of land thats just vacant lots cant some of these places be converted into drag strips?? Or could they close down infrequently used roads every couple weekends and hold a day of street races?? Whats more important? keeping drivers happy by leaving barely used roads opened or inconviencing then just alittle bit with a detour and saving lives???

I dont know if tuners are being pulled over because their being profiled as possible street racers so much as its for the INCREDIBLY RIDCULOUS CARB LAWS!!! For those not familiar CARB laws are laws implemented by the california air research board to keep the atmosphere and enviornment clean of pollution. Basically if you change anything on the drivetrain between the intake and the catalytic converters its illegal in the state and many states that have adopted these laws. Thats why im sooo hesistant to change anything besides putting in a cat-back because i dont want to be pulled over and have to deal with the bs thats become law. Although the trd supercharger is carb legal, which probably explains why its not as powerful as we thought or would like it to be.
