Default Where to get "expensive quote" for a ... Honda...

Yup, my chick got hit the other day, other driver is at fault. Now we need to find a body repair shop. The damage is minor, broken right fog light, and paint chipped off. Not too bad...

Where is a more expensive place to get a quote? We got one from "L" Monte Body Shop for ~ $600. Anywhere that may be more expensive and no affiliated with Farmers Insurance?

Yup, the insurance pays for it. I get a quote, preferrably an expensive quote. I fax it, they send me the check for the quoted amount. Then I go to my preferred auto shop. Hoping we have left overs for our troubles...

Not to burst your bubble but IIRC the insurance company makes the check out to the body shop, not you. So your idea will only work if the check they send you has your name on it and not the name of the body shop. But good luck sticking it to the man!

sorry not to burst your bubble this is not always true i got hit 2 months ago and it was the other partys fault so i called his insurance to make a claim and they sent out a adjuster and a week later i got a check to my name for the amount that they felt would cost to fix my car and a statement saying if more money is needed please fax or mail body shop price and then they will pay the body shop the remaining amount just try not to get a high quote cause they know whats up scion quoted me a price and the check was only half that amount quoted.... good luck with this

The Honda Dealerships around here don't have their own collision/repair... T_T They just refer you to another place.

bro just to be safe just get the car fixed without trying to get something out of it . if you get caught giving them high priced quotes you can go to the slammer for fraud . and for what ? a Honda ? no way !!!

That's horrible that you're doing something like that. Being honest is always the good route.

WOW! I would keep this a private affair. THis is insurance fraud I think, no?? Or you could get accused of it. That would suck. Either way making it so blatantly public your sort of risking this I think.

I mean what you do in private......
