he can't do that. he has the inferno kit. you can't cut and splice any o the wires. its like an ethernet cable type wire/phone line.

It is a good idea, however. I would like a quick disconnect so I could remove them in the winter. Mine took an ice chunk and cracked. who knows how long they will last before I have to buy a new set and re-run the whole thing.
How easy it would be just to replace the broken one if they could do that.

well, my bad. I thought he meant the regular neon tubes, or single light tubes. anyways, depending on how many wires he has in one light tube, he can look into those wire connectors from radioshack and find a match. same principle, cut and attach a male/female connector.

I read somewhere on here that if you cut the wires and re splice them you will have problems with the lights. they will flicker. go on and off like if there was a shortage

You could probably use some DB-9 connectors from radio shack, and solder the wires in. As long as you put the wires in the right places you won't have a problem.

use male/female rj45(ethernet) connectors or rj..11?(phone) connectors. only problem is that those connectors are a little bulky, so you might want to mount them under your car or put them inside the car. if you're worried about flicker, looks like you'll need to buy another set to test that theory.

Thanks, but I already knew that. What I am trying to avoid is rerunning the wire to the control unit. If it disconnected at the light tube it would make it easier.

Sorry I didn't make that clear the first time I posted in this thread.

if the rj45(ethernet) connectors or the rj11(phone) connectors would work, you could just put the female end on the feed line from the hub and mount them in locations near the tubes, and then whenever you get new tubes just plug the male end into the female end that's already mounted on your car.
