I wasn't sure how exactly they operated - that was what I was told before... but now I also know why they charge $100 a year membership fee to actually join - rather than being a 'casual' (as it were) member on their boards.
I was just talking to the wife tonight about the National Meet in May in Ames,IA... we are already talking about trying to make plans to be there...
All the best -

Crash,
We at Scion Fusion would love to be able to work with all clubs in Colorado. We encourage every club to use our calendar to post upcoming events for their club. When we formed Scion Fusion we spoke to several dealerships in Colorado as well as other Scion clubs in Colorado. We found that the one thing people wanted was a way to communicate local events other than Scion Life. With that in mind we built our website.
Scion Fusion is owned by it's members and this is why we collect $25.00 dues. We have meetings the 1st Saturday of every month where our members discuss what they want in a club, upcoming events and how to best use club funds. Currently Mountain States Scion is hosting our monthly meetings in their 2nd floor conference room. Mountain States is also providing us free pizza and drinks. In the future we will have guest speakers attend to discuss different topics. We wish to work with all Scion dealerships in Colorado.
As far as bad blood between the groups. We have tried to have functions to involve everyone. The current event is the "Fill the Box" Toy Drive for Ronald McDonald House. The only clubs that decided to participate was Scion Fusion and Generation Scion.
We hope for the drive on the 18th of December that all Scion Clubs as well as Scion owners, who do not have any club, join us to show their support for a great charity. Scion Corporation will be present for this drive. Everyone talks about wanting big events in Colorado, so if you want to have these big events then show Scion corporate as well as the local dealerships by attending this event.
If you want to find out more about us check out our website. Hopefully in the near future all clubs will start posting their events.

I dunno, it just seems like clubs that do not require dues and membership fees are clubs that are hard to get up and going. I'm not trying to bash on anyone or any clubs but nothing gets done and there is no unity.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that that the people who do want to pay the membership fees are people who actually want to do something with the club. Because you're spending your money, you have more incentive to collaborate with other members and get the club going. In a way, you do stuff to "get your money's worth." I'm just blabbin, but does this even make any sense to anyone?
Anyways it's all been said and my eyes hurt from staring at the computer screen.
We all need to get over what happened in the past. I mean seriously I honestly feel like I'm in high school again. I'm not saying that everybody has to be friends with everyone, but we can all be civil. Come on guuys!

I do want to add that having several clubs in a city the size of Denver (and the surrounding area) is NOT a bad thing. Healthy competition between clubs is what drives each club to be BETTER.
It is important for an owner to have a choice of clubs when there is one and they should take pride in their choice.
There are a LOT of people in the Denver area and there are a LOT of Scions out there. There's easily enough owners to support several clubs.
At a major show like HIN, WOW, BOTI, or NOPI it will be good to have inter-club rivalries driving the members to do more and better things.
Take pride in your club and do your best to represent it!

A person by the name of Josh Barton started Generation Scion. He is also the proud owner of the first xB to roll out of John Elway Toyota (JET). After experiencing the potential of the Scion product, he decided to a start a club. He asked us, John Elway Toyota to help out. We were delighted with his offer and joined in the fun.
Josh has volunteered his own time and money to make this club roll. And, we at JET have tried to be there to help as much as possible. By no means does JET own or operate the club. Josh is the one that deserves the credit. JET offers a place to hang, some schwag and food. The $25 fee is for the club, which goes straight to a non-profit organization called Generation Scion. The members of the club use the money however they see fit. However, JET will sponsor you for a year if you purchase a Scion from us.
I know that Generation Scion is looking for people that are interested in helping with the club. A car club should be the whole of all its parts. No one person or business has the power. A good car club should be self-reliant. I suggest that if you want to be active in the Scion world you should do just that. Go out and experience it for yourself; meet with all the clubs and join the ones you like. If you join a good club(s) then you will have a voice and a choice to do what you want with people that enjoy the same things.
Thank you,
Tim Robinson

robinsont,
You say this is the truth and nothing but the truth. Explain this post
I heard that a guy who used to be the Scion Manager at Elway started Generation Scion. He left and the club died. Now Josh who was in the club is trying to revive it from the ashes. So what is the truth. If Josh is the one who is running Generation Scion why are you posting you need someone to step up and organize it. Why isn't Josh doing it.
