Default Colorado Tuner Shops

Hi everybody

My name is Brad and my parents just bought me a new scion tc for my 16th birthday in spetember. I had to get it early becasue its a stick and i need to learn how to drive manual. Anyways i have been researching the aftermarket parts for the tc, especially the performance parts. I live in englewood, CO (80111) at Hamden and 1-25 i was wondering if anyone knew of any good tuner shops near me that would hook me up with he stuff i want. It would be a big help because the only shop i know of is Joule and its all the way in the springs and i want a shop A LOT closer to my house. thanx guys

Brad

Hey there Brad welcome to the boards here and congrats on the new TC. I believe Joules is closed. I would just order the stuff online and not mess with local shops most of the time you'll save a lot of money by ordering online. I think John(JRincon) might be able to get you some parts at a pretty reasonable price, check with him.

most all shops local have to order their stuff anyway. nobody really carries any of the parts you want so first check the classifieds. you can get really great parts for a great price and if that don't work ebay is another way to save some bank.

as far as what you should do first I cant answer that because I have no Idea what you want to do to the car. thats your choice and your desicion. do some research and find out what other people are doing and how well it worked for them.

Good luck and congrats on the tc.

Hey Brad!
Welcome to the Colorado ScionLife board! Glad you are getting the tC, and learning about what to do with it before jumping in with both feet!
I don't know what options your new car is already coming with, but I strongly suggest replacing the tires immediately if it comes with the P-Zero Nero's on it. They are REALLY bad when driving on the rainchanneled roads, and also really bad on any rotomilled roads (which Denver seems to have alot of with all the construction going on around town). We got the dealer to trade ours out for Yokohama Parada's instead, and paid a bit extra to get them too. But it was well worth it! The car drives SOOO much better with them!
Otherwise, I would also suggest doing a slight tint on the windows (if it doesn't have tint already), just to save your interior from sun damage, and to reduce the heat in the car when you have to leave it parked anywhere. You'll be glad you did that too!
Hope to see you around!

I have 15 percent all around on my car and its white so it looks even darker and know a few others have even darker and don't get bothered by the cops. thier big thing with me is noise from my exhaust.

Just a note colorado state law is 27% or lighter, no mirror tint. just so you know. fine is 50 bucks if they are being Aholes.

If you want a good cheap way to improve your launch and handleing I highley recomend an engine dampner. I just put mine on and the gains are incredable. well worth the money.

my exhaust recomendations is to figure out what you plan on doing so you can size up right (turbo, supercharger, NA) and so that you don't buy parts you cant use down the road.

I have about 1 year hands on mechanic experiance and 1 year automotive and performance training so If you need help making some decisions or curious about parts just PM me and I will help any way I can.

I paid 120 for it. it was Schwettys. and yes it does help that much. the downside is it made me realize how much I need better tires.

as far as the engine damper goes - INGALLS, don't consider any other brand.

looking at the tallies on the poll, it looks like stance is the way to go.

There was a previous poll somewhere, and most everyone said stance, stereo, speed, and interior (in that order)

but like pirate sez, it's up to you. that was good advice. so was bsp-tc IMO

Well, keeping in mind that Brad is a NEW driver, and assuming he will probably want his first new car to be his baby, and not all chopped up or set to dragrace, it would probably be best to do the tires (for safety sake) first, and then the other mods later as he gets more comfortable with the car and what it can do...just my two cents...
Oh, and Brad?
I think another VERY important first for these cars is to get some really good wax (like Mother's), and spend an entire day waxing and buffing the car up. It will do wonders to protect your paint job and clearcoat from weathering and general damage to the paint! I think alot of people assume that a new car comes all set to go with great paint, but these cars have "not so great" paint, and it NEEDS a good waxing right away!
