Default Frosty's Motorcycle blues

Well, I decided to take some time off from modding the xB and get the bike up and running. 3 years ago when I got it, before I ever got to ride the thing I put $1000+ in to it to make sure everything was in working order. Some things were odd even after I had it fixed and took it back. they said They couldn't find anything wrong with it and sent me on my way.
Rode it all the time until I got the xB a little over a year ago.

Today, it's down at South Side Sycles and they are fixing all the stuff that the other place told me was just fine. The Problem is I'm running out of money to give these guys that are fixing the bike right. SSS has earned my trust. I just wish I knew about them a year ago.

I really don't see what I could do to get any money back from the first place that worked on it. Being that it was 3 years ago. But If I could... I would have the money to get some paint work and a new headliner on the xB.

Mine was a bank Repossession. The Guy still owed $15000 to the bank for it when I got it for $7000.

You can see in the pic where the clutch cable was rubbing against the tank. That is one of the things I never thought was right and SSS saw and has already fixed.
I was thinking about painting the bike all white with ice sickles instead of flames.

The day after I bought it the guy who owned it was at the dealership asking if he could buy it back. They had it for 3 months and the day after I got it he came in to get it back.

Well, they found out why the back tire isn't holding air. The first place took a chunk of rubber off of the bead part of the tire so it wont seal. So I just told them to put a tube in it because it is almost a brand new tire.
The Chain tensioner was put in upside down and the chain is all chewed.

I'm not going to afford to put in the new Base Gasket that is leaking. Because that will be about $700 all by it's self.

You really think so? I'm not so sure about taking the engine off the bike and all that.

oh man i really think so - much more accessible than any car, and I've taken apart my fair share.

you need a razor blade, a torque wrench, and some cold beverages. ok, maybe there's a bit more to it, but it would be a cakewalk. a bike's just an engine with wheels anyhow.

I have never done anything like that.I know that I would take it apart and then mess something up.

eh, what can you do. I was just happy to dig it out of the garage and wash it. However I felt a since of pride when I saw it up on the rack at the shop.

I'll tell you it wouldn't be the first time I rode it in the rain. It will just be the first time I rode it in the rain and then had to work in wet clothes.
