Love the Fall Colors? Wanna Drive?
I am starting this thread to guage the response level for a Fall season drive in the hills! As we have all heard on the news lately, the fall colors are starting to show already, and we only have a couple of weeks to do this if we're going to...
For those of you who were past ScinergyCO club members, you may remember this as the "Mt. Evans Drive" that we used to do each year with all of the club members.
For the past couple of years a few of us have done this drive apart from any club affiliation, and we have just gotten together for a casual drive and pictures. We have NOT done the Mt. Evans Drive every time, opting instead for a drive in another part of the mountains. This year will be the same as last year for us.
So, if you would like to go on a peaceful, scenic drive to see the fall colors in the mountains and shoot some great pics of our cars, then lets' do it!
WHEN: The drive will happen on either Saturday, September 29th OR on Saturday, October 6th. We will decide based on response levels to this thread.
WHERE: Meet at the McDonalds just off of I-70 in Idaho Springs at 9am.
DRIVE INFO: We will lead the drive through Idaho Springs to the west on I-70, getting off at the Georgetown exit. Then we will drive up into the hills on Guanella Pass Road to Duck Lake. We will have the opportunity to go on a short hike while we are there (if you like) before heading back down to Idaho Springs. We will stop along the way for fall color pictures. Once we get back to Idaho Springs we can decide if we want to continue on the Mt. Evans drive from there, or not. Then, we usually meet to have a meal at a local restaurant afterwards too.
NOTE! This is NOT a race in the hills
, and it is NOT club affiliated. This is just a leisurely drive and a chance to get good pics to share!
THIS DRIVE IS OPEN TO ALL CAR MAKES & MODELS...NOT JUST FOR SCIONS!

This drive has been a blast for us for years now. Something I look forward to every fall.

OK, so it looks like we will be doing this drive no later than September 29th...in fact we may make it this coming Saturday, the 22nd instead! It just seems like the colors may already peak if we wait until the October 6th date.
So, I will check with our old ScinergyCO club members on this event too, and see if any of them want to join in...(and I'll post the event on Facebook to our Friends there too)

I will be out of town on October 6th but I could do the 29th barring any changes in my schedule. There is a RMSC meet on the 23rd so I don't know if I would be able to do both. If I lived in CO I would definitely make a weekend of it.

Looks like it's going to be this weekend! The colors should be perfect on Saturday too. It'll be a little chilly in the mountains (forecast says a high of 76 in Denver), so throw in a hoodie or something before leaving home. ;). ...and don't forget your camera.
Now to decide which car we want to clean up over the next few days, lol

Looks like we will be bringing our WRX instead of the tC again. So those of you showing up for the drive can expect to find us there in a white Subaru WRX, k? See you there! :D

Yeah, sorry to hear you guys can't make it. Glad you'll be having fun at a party at least! We'll take lots of pics to post up so you can see what you missed...
