New to Scionlife
Hi everyone, my names Kenneth (KJ). Ive been browsing these forums for a while and decided to finally post a little.
Got my FM Scion Tc about 5 months ago as a graduation present, early christmas present and probably all my future birthday presents rolled into one
. I love the car and all of the Scion family. I cant help but smile ever time I walk into my garage and see it there before I head out somewhere.
Started getting into car's when I first started driving one hehe. My first car was a 99 Pontiac Grand Am. It was a good car and I liked it alot. I started reading magazines like Sport Compact Magazine, Import Tuner, and Modified Magazine and that really started getting me hooked. I never did any mods to my Grand Am cause we'll its not really a car that you see modded so theres no parts for it and I didnt have a job. So when my family made the move from VA to CO we left it.
Finally got a job at Best Buy after 2 months of looking so the modding has begun.
When I got my Tc I got quite a few customization options straight from the dealership:
OBX Shift ****
OBX Sport Pedals
Blue LED Light Enhancements
Scion Security
Pedestal Spoiler
6.5" Pioneer AVIC-N2 DVD/Nav System
Custom 2 tone Leather seats
Not from dealership:
Window tint -- (Sun was a beast in the summertime)
2" Stubby Antenna
Mods waiting in my room:
TRD Springs
TRD Sway Bar
Injen CAI
Called a dealership(un-named) and they told me for installation of the Springs and Sway bar its going to cost me $600 bucks. Just read through this thread https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=98375 so im definately not going to pay that much. Does anyone know a reliable local shop(Meineke, Midas or someplace) or someone that will install them for cheaper?
Ill post some pics of my car later.

Welcome!
I personally plan on doing my own springs when they get here (df210's wooHoo), and I would say the same. I know one of the tc guys around here just got jackstands and a creeper for xmas, and I think he is going to do his own springs as well.
I just want to do it myself to familiarize myself with the suspension, more than anything. I really dig working on this car. Actually, I have always enjoyed working on cars as long as it does not involve riding the bus until i figger out what's wrong
Anyhow - big greetz!

I got my trd spring installed at mountain states for $375, $300 for the install plus $75 four wheel alignment, after being quoted that same $600 rate at boulder toyota, however after numerous visits to mountain states service dept(including going back because they didn't tighten one of my lowering springs all the way) I would NOT advise going to mountain states for service work of any kind.
Thanks for all the responses, I got a really good deal from a local tuner shop 10 minutes from me and im getting everything installed tommorrow. Ill tell you guys how everything turns out when its done.
Here's a couple of shots of my car. Dont have any really good shots of my DVD/Nav player, my camera sucks.
Freshly washed (also good shot of my stubby antenna, dont have any signal loss at all.) Actually I use XM Radio anyway.)

Anyway, Im gonna wait until summer to do it or unless Ingalls come out with their own springs and ill probably get them for free installed

And for the install of the TRD Springs, Rear sway bar and Injen CAI im paying a little over $195 plus tax. Getting it done at 9SecondRacing. Saw that thier company show car was on the front cover of Turbo magazine a couple months ago. It was a 240sx with a rebuilt skyline motor, RB20DET(or something like that) if i can remember. Looks really nice, they had it in the front garage.
Welcome KJ, You have a nice looking ride there, keep us updated on the progress and post some new pics when you get them. You are welcome to join us at the meeting Saturday night at Mountain States Scion, the meeting starts about 6:30 pm and lasts a couple of hours. We will have pizza and drinks provided by the dealer. We are planning on talking about putting together a meet with all clubs in Denver sometime soon. So everybody is welcome to come on down and put some info in the mix. We will also be discussing the Poker Run next weekend at Elway, times, dealers involved and all that stuff. Hope to see you all there.
I might be able to make it to the Sat. night meeting if its the mountain states toyota on N. Broadway. I have class all day right across the street from there at Westwood on saturday and will probably get off at around 4pm, ill see if i can make it.
