how many of your gears are toasted?

 

3rd gear grinds if I shift into it above 3000rpm. But once its in gear, it stay there, thank G-d.

5th goes in for like 1 second, then pops out.

So basically one gear is completey f**cked =(
and the other i've been babying it so it won't completely give out.

 

When my clutch gave out a long time ago. I had the clutch and pressure plate swapped out. The mechanic broke the tranny seals I believe. Because like 2 months later I realized it was leaking, slowing.

So I guess thats how 5th got messed up. So since then I fill up the tranny fluid every few weeks. I got it down to a science =p

 

my fifth gear is grinding when I shift into it...damn, how long is our powertrain warranty?

 

broke the seals.. what lol dude i would have had that guy replacing the seal asap.... are you sure your nechanic did a good job cuz 5th should not be popping out like that..

 

Not sure. But I never used him again. This was like more than a yr ago now lol.

How do you feel about doing a shortblock and tranny swap in the near future pete????

I would help too, lol. I could remove the cylinder head. After that, the short block and tranny, I would need help. I don't own a cherry picker, and it freaks me out to remove the shortblock.

 

if u have a short block why dont u build it.. get a new head..slap it on... then u can take the motor and tranny out at once.. pop the new one in with the tranny and ur done... sell the old parts like the busted tranny, old shortblock(or keep for future back up use) u can sell the head also ... alota ways to go about it to get money back in the end.

Thats what i'm planning on doing. It also explains why I haven't installed the tranny and flywheel I have in the garage yet, lol. Because I want to do the whole install at once. I'm saving up for the sleeving and internals right now.

I know i'm gonna have it done sooner or later, i'm just wondering where I should get it installed

Woo hoo the front lip came in today I also finally picked up some redline MT-90 and purchased the o2 sensor.

Im giving the reseting the battery one more shot just for the hell of it. I was told to actually touch the positive and negative cables to completely reset the ecu. Gave it a shot, no sparks to shock and all no check engine light..yet. Im expecting it to pop on so hopefully this weekend ill pop the new o2 on.

do you guys check your oil after EVERY gas fill-up?
I was reading around and I've read it is something that has to be done, sounds kinda OCD to me but Im kinda new to my S/C

 

^nah i check it about twice a week or so. I havn't had any problems loosing oil.

my 4th gear maxes out at about 100 mph... took a quick drive to pick up some more candy paint and thanks to the palmetto i found out lol...
