the tc and caldina are both based off the avensis. RS*R only sourced the awd system from the caldina/avensis to use the shaft and rear subframe for rwd. the engine is the 4th gen 3sge blacktop from the altezza rs200 which i believe is mated to a c60 tranny (6spd - similar to the c160 in the celica gts). i didnt know they used a custom tranny for it.
i thought the 3sge was also in the caldina?

close jigga. 3sgTe lol. 260 caballitos de fuerza. one of the 2nd gen caldina trims had a regular 3sge (non-BEAMS), but the caldina that shares platform with the tc is the 3rd gen caldina (02-07)

a good welder. lol. you mean using the same 2az? i think at that point, it would be easier to swap the 3s, awd tranny, and awd system. you'd probably have to cut the floor to create a tunnel for the shaft, create custom mounts for the engine, tranny, etc. wire everything up. if you want to use the 2az, i dont know if youd be able to hook the e350 tranny you guys have to the awd system. if not, you might be able to create an adapter to make the caldina tranny work with the 2az, but i doubt thats possible.

i was thinking if the platform is the same, i believe the driveshaft would go where our exhaust is running now... wouldnt we be able to use the mounts from the caldera for the swap? id probably go with the 3s... it seems to have more power. i believe its boosted from factory also?

it is. the 3s has tons of potential and makes crazy power with simple bolt-ons. a lot of supra guys get rid of the 2jz and build 3s' in the supra cuz they dont weigh as much and make power easier. i think they have a ct26. same platform but it's a different series motor so the mounts would have to be fabricated. AZ versus S series. blah.

im not too sure about the driveshaft space. you might have to relocate the gas tank even. see pic below of the fastest tc in 1up:
